Internal positions in industry

Three (3) types of candidates will fill this job:

1: An MBA candidate with prior experience in the Entertainment Industry - with either a Black Belt or Master Black Belt [certified].

2: An MBA candidate with prior experience in the Entertainment Industry - having used BB or MBB processes but, not necessarily certified - they'll train such a person.

3: A dynamic, well-spoken, articulate, Project Manager with either direct Entertainment Industry experience, or at least - some form of exposure [internship, education, etc.] to the industry where they understand that "world". Client would look at someone like this and help them obtain their Black Belt certification.

At present, there are 20 people in this group, major initiatives in place - client needs to add 10-15 new BB's over the next 12 months. Please see me in case you have any related questions or comments.

Master Black Belt, Engagment Leader for East Coast


Job Description:

Responsibilities



The Strategic Initiatives Team is expanding its organization on the east coast to support multiple Initiatives and is looking for an Engagement Leader (Master Black Belt, Director) to manage a newly formed 5-7 person team that supports our east coast operations.

Responsibilties include:

  • Lead and build a team of 5-7 Black Belts that deliver improvements to the critical metrics of Revenue Generation, Cost Reduction, and Cycle Time
  • Report progress of multiple initiative and team status to VP of Strategic Initiatives
  • Act as an internal management consultant to support business unit's process improvement
  • Identify and lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to improve current processes
  • Partner with executives and business leaders to run projects, drive change, and generate results
  • Identify, lead & enforce standards for projects resulting in growth opportunities, process improvement, cycle time reduction and cost out opportunities
  • Drive Lean/Six Sigma integration, awareness, and advocacy
  • Use Six Sigma, Lean and advanced project management methodology, to drive change management for business units
  • Drive and facilitate Action Workouts
  • Use consulting techniques to become a leader of change and process improvement
     

    Qualifications


    Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years prior experience in leading a team of consultants or similarly skilled employees
  • Minimum 5 years of project leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years of facilitation/leadership of large workouts (or equivalent), change management and cross functional team management
  • Minimum of 3 years either internal or external consulting experience (or equivalent) including managing client engagement, defining client needs, delivering value to the client, and presenting/reporting out
  • BA/BS Degree in related field

    Eligibility Requirements:
  • Candidate must be willing to travel a minimum of 6 weeks per year
  • Able to work and commute to New York City, and Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

    Desired

  • Six Sigma certification, Black Belt or Higher
  • Knowledge and experience in the entertainment sector
  • MBA, Management Consulting and/or Operations Management Experience
  • Previous Six Sigma and / or Lean experience in transactional environment
  • CAP training (GE Employees only) or proven change management abilities
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access) and Mini Tab (or similar functioning statistical software)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proven track recoworking in multi-functional organizations
  • Strong initiative to not only complete responsibilities but also the wherewithal to find projects and grow the Strategic Initiatives organization generally
  • Working knowledge of Value Stream mapping, Action Work Outs, and other Lean tools and methods

    Genera

    The Master Black Belt will be an internal management consultant directing a team that supports Digital Media, IT, Advertising Sales, Marketing & Research and Operations using Lean Six Sigma and change management techniques to drive process improvement and critical business initiatives. The Master Black Belt will focus project execution on New Product Introduction, Sales Inquiry to Order, and Order to Receivables processes and will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. The primary focus of the Master Black Belt will be to lead a team of Black Belts committed to improving and revolutionizing our digital media, news editorial, sales and operational processes using Lean and Six Sigma. Specifically, this individual will have broad exposure to several organizations likely to include many projects related to operational process improvement, growth initiatives and other corporate initiatives as assigned within our Television and Film divisions.
