Analyst/Specialist

This a highly visible, newly created role to support all Market Data
functions for the new web site/cable channel

The way this job is written, it is really two jobs. They are looking for
a good mix of either the market data analyst with market data support,
or the market data support with software customization.

Salary range, depending on overall experience, is 80 - 125K.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Market Data Contracts Administration - reviewing existing

contracts (70+ Exchanges), and tracking changes to contractual
obligations, pricing policies and usage terms.

* Track compliance of new products and existing products to

contractual restrictions.
* Report usage to Exchanges on new and existing product as
required by Market Data Agreements.
* Assist with development of market data strategy by
researching current industry issues through participation in Market Data
industry conferences, and researching trade publications.

* Assist with strategic market data sourcing initiatives,
through vendor research and industry knowledge.
* Assist with Index Product Development by assessing new
product market data permissioning requirements.
* Assist with pricing and contract negotiation with
Exchanges for new products.
* Create vendor scorecards to rate current providers to
S&P.
* Assess business requirements for new product launches.
* Coordinate with operations execution teams (internal and
external) to achieve successful service launches.

On the technical side:

* Software development and customization of live to air
systems.
* Software programming and coding of logical template based

graphics scenes.
* Responsible for all data feeds types, circuits, and
systems involved in distribution to on-air systems.
* Maintain all SQL servers databases and replication.
* Design system architecture and redundancy components in
both software, hardware and circuits.
* Financial Data - exchange entitlements, contracts, News
feeds, and back end components.
* Sports Data - leagues, teams, and schedules.
* Weather Data - FNC weather system data, hardware /
software, and automated distribution mechanisms
* Maintain FNC News Ticker and automated GFX systems in NY,

DC and LA.
* Special Event Data - Election data, Exit Polls, Opinion
Dynamic, NASA, Web, News Headlines.
* Reports to the Director of Graphics Engineering
* Works within the product development team - CORE Team.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Proficiency in programming languages and software
application development.
* Bachelors Degree
* Strong verbal and written communications skill
* Detail Oriented
* Good quantitative skills - spreadsheet skills are an
asset.
* Knowledge of current issues and practices in Market Data
Industry - especially
* Exchange permissioning and market data control practices.
* Project management skills would be an asset.
* Experience or understanding of technical solutions as
applied to solving business problems.
* 3-4 years' experience in Market Data, with experience in
one or more of the following roles:Contracts and Administration ;Process
documentation ;Project management
