The Analyst uses J2EE to build and enhance web applications.  The Analyst creates high-performance Java codes and technical documentation by working closely with Business Analysts and Technical Architects to develop detailed implementation designs.  Analysts work in a deadline-driven environment to provide documentation, follow process and code standards, write unit tests, provide estimates, and contribute new ideas. 

 

Candidates must have hands-on experience coding in J2EE, including working with SQL, Struts, Tiles, Spring, and Hibernate. Additionally, experience working with Flash and/or Flex is preferred, but not required.

Job Title: Back Office Operations Specialist

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey

 

Candidate will be responsible for:

·         Preparing daily position and trade reconciliations between fund books and records and Prime Broker(s)

·         Working with clients and Prime Broker(s) on break resolution for all open items

·         Ensuring all client trades are booked properly in the system.

·         Assisting clients in setting up OTC derivative instruments in Security Master database

·         Processing Corporate Actions for securities held in client portfolio, including cash and stock dividends, stock splits, mergers and acquisitions

·         Verifying OTC derivative transactions versus counterparty confirmations.

·         Tracking missing OTC confirmations and reporting unverified positions to clients on a weekly or monthly basis

·         Working with clients and Technology on systems enhancements

·         Supporting the conversion of new clients into Middle Office, including training clients on Technology and processes

·         Working with P&L Specialists on any open client pricing issues

 

Experience:

• BS or BA in Accounting/Finance/Economics
• 1+ Years in Financial Services with an exposure to P&L Reporting or Operations processing
• General financial instruments knowledge (equities, fixed income, options, swaps, futures, foreign exchange) within both the domestic and global security markets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client relationship management skills
• Knowledge of Hedge or Mutual Funds
