Our financial software product client, located in Midtown Manhattan 
has a full time position for a strong quantitative C++ developer, to 
join the Financial Engineering team, which currently has 7 members. 

Responsibilities include development and maintenance of the analytics 
library, which covers pricing, risk management and hedge accounting of 
derivatives in interest rate, currency, commodity, credit and equity. 

This client is NOT a banking, hedge fund environment but if you HAVE this background, we can proceed.

We are seeking a Senior Database Architect/DBA to join our team and providing mission-critical DBA design and support for a commercial financial trading system. This position requires knowledge in a variety of database technologies and products (i.e. Oracle, My SQL, MS SQL, Sybase), with an emphasis on Sybase, and across different operating systems. They will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and supporting a 24x7 production and development Order Management System in the financial sector which requires high performance and low latency. Typical responsibilities include performance tuning, replication, installing, reporting, troubleshooting, backup and recovery audits and implementation, upgrades, migrations, mentoring, implementation of best practices, developing stored procedures, and other classic DBA/Architect related projects. This position reports to the Director of Production and Infrastructure. 
Skills 
• Strong design skills coupled with the ability to take designs from inception into a working system. 
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to respond well under pressure. 
• Work under minimal direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in a friendly high-pressure environment. Must be comfortable working both individually and as part of a team. 
• Provide 24x7 support for mission-critical systems. 
• Work with developers to design application database architecture. 
• Detail oriented, methodical, meticulous, and process-oriented person. 
• Strong task planning and tracking capabilities; strong diagnostic, analytic, troubleshooting, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills 
• Administer & configure all our databases in both production and development. 
• Develop, document and adhere to database standards, guidelines, procedures and policies. 
• Stay informed on latest developments in the database management field, researching, evaluating and recommending technical direction for database technologies. 
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 


Experience: 
• 6+ years of production DBA & Architect experience. 
• Experience in backup and recovery scenarios 
• Strong performance tuning skills 
• Strong knowledge of related database utilities 
• Shell scripting knowledge 
• Specific knowledge of Reporting tools including Crystal Reports 
• Sybase 15 ASE with Replication Server. 
• Sybase RAP server experience, a plus.
