Travel 20-25% to destinations within the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Working knowledge of integrated automation and information systems, network design, programmable controllers, human-machine interface systems, and reporting tools as applied to industrial process control. Develop and maintain product baseline software including technical descriptions, sales information, documents and operating manuals. Perfom bid evaluations and interface with vendors.

Qualifications:
General Information:
Bachelor of Science, Control Engineering or Computer Science. Five years automation systems experience, two years information systems experience. Relational Database design. Man-machine interface design. Windows NT/2000 Server, Visual Basic, JAVA, MS SQL Server, System and Database Security, Web Page Design.

Requirements:
Must maintain at least one of the following certifications for continued employment: Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer or other certified professional designation that directly relates to activities performed by the department.

The following are critical factors for the Control and Information Systems engineer position:



Automation experience: Even though the position is for a Control and Information Systems Engineer, we find that candidates with strict IT backgrounds do not adjust well to designing and commissioning systems for process control.
SCADA / HMI experience: Candidates should be familiar with developing applications using any of the following: iFIX, InTouch, RSView. Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the scripting functions and not just visualization objects.
PLC experience: Candidates should be familiar with developing applications for Allen Bradley ControlLogix and / or PLC-5 processors. Modicon and Siemens S7 development experience is also of interest.
Database design: Candidates should be familiar with MS SQL Server. While not expected to be dba's, candidates should be familiar with creating the following: tables, views, stored procedures, trigger based events, db maintenance plans. Candidates should know how to collect data in a relational database from a SCADA package or I/O server and how to generate reports using SQL compliant reporting tools.
Visual Basic or JAVA: Candidates should have experience developing applications with either.
