Through relationships with approximately 80 key sponsors, administers approximately private equity funds with invested capital of more than $40 billion. support s a broad range of private equity funds, including buyout, venture, real estate, mezzanine debt, fund of funds, secondary, co-investment, employee plans and carried interest plans.
Primary Responsibilities and Requirements
The Director position will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting our private equity clients. Directors should have a strong background in partnership accounting with an emphasis on financial services, proven client management skills, and the ability to manage and lead a team in monitoring client deliverables and meeting deadlines.
Specific Responsibilities
Client Engagement Management:
Overall client engagement responsibility
Overall responsibility for client relationships and client meetings
Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables
Provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to our clients
Preparation of client service plans including annual budget
Establish plan for new client setup and transitions
Coordinate with key client contacts
Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process
Staff Management:
Coordinate overall work plan for accounting staff, which includes managing and monitoring work in progress
Review all work product prepared by accounting staff
Provide on-the-job coaching and training as necessary to the accounting team
Coach and mentor staff and create a positive work environment
Assist in staff training and development programs
Review/ Implementation:
Review private equity fund client's partnership agreements, PPM's and other materials
Implementation of fund structures on accounting system
Preparation and implementation of distribution/waterfall models
Review of limited partner and general partner allocations
Review client financial statements, partner capital statements and other required financial reporting.
Requirements
College degree in Accounting or related field
7 + years experience in Accounting
CPA designation a plus
Knowledge of partnership accounting, private equity experience a plus.
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
Supervisory skills with two or more professional staff
Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills
Project management skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
