Responsibilities: Designs and develops technical solutions for one or more projects/applications for the Global Clearance Services (IT) Department for Portfolio Management, Margin and/or related systems. This individual will develop and maintain applications and integration solutions on the UNIX/LINUX platforms with interfaces to the mainframe and other distributed systems.  Candidate must demonstrate a hands-on technical background, architecture, design & development abilities across a full project life cycle.

Platforms: Must be proficient in UNIX/LINUX.  Familiarity with the WebLogic and Apache environments is a plus.

Database Systems: Must be familiar with DB2 and Oracle. Must have strong DB design skills.

Other Programming Skills: Must be proficient in J2EE programming (servlets, beans, JMS) and familiar with JAVA client programming (JSP, JSF, applets).  Proficiency with SQL and database stored procedure programming is a plus. Applicant should have 8 – 10 experience developing with an object oriented language (Java, C++), with 3 – 5 years building enterprise systems with J2EE. Must have experience modeling systems design with UML. Must have Entity Relationship modeling experience. Senior technology operations position in Jersey City, NJ to support the Global Margin system and/or Futures/Options and FX Clearing Technology.   4 positions are available in Jersey City.

The firm’s global margin system provides margin exposure information as well as collateral details, liquidity values and position and balance information used in margining an account.   Business areas covers include Prime Broker, Equity Finance, Fixed Income, PCS, Futures and Derivatives. The system main function is to ensure the ‘firm’ is not financially exposed due to security/cash fluctuation in the financial market.

The Futures, Options and FX Clearing platform uses a mix of vendor systems and in-house developed applications.  The clearing platform covers several major business lines including Futures Client Service, Prime Broker, Foreign, Fixed Income and Equity Proprietary Trading Desks, Energy Markets and Operations.  As exchange traded products are used by many business divisions, the clearing platform is an important component of the firm’s success.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Engineering oversight of the margin and clearing applications. 
2. Day-to-day support of the system and Clearing platforms researching/resolving production issues and user inquiries
3. Working closely with system and Clearing development teams and Global Operate team.
4. Oversee and execute Quality Assurance program for all system enhancements and changes.

Essential Requirements
