Description: This development role will develop customizations to the PTC Windchill PDMLink application suite. Java and Manufacturing industry experience are important.
Will use IDE, SCCM and automated build tools to produce and package installable components in and Agile development environment. The successful individual will have an extensive knowledge of the operations of Windchill PDMLink and have demonstrated experience designing, developing and deploying complex customizations including integrations to external systems.
Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test and debug Java applications for the Windchill PDMLink system.
Analyze, modify and document existing application code.
Perform packaging of installable components for global distribution and deployment through the production pipeline
Collaborate with colleagues and custom application teams on development, implementation and upgrade of custom and third party integration components.
Provide third level technical application support
Assist in configuring, customizing, and testing new releases of major PLM solutions.
Participate in defining the architecture of our enterprise wide Product Data Management system
Assist in gathering user requirements for new functionality of PLM solutions.
Communicate defects and desired enhancements to software vendors to improve their products.
Develop and maintain technical documentation (use/functional/design requirements, best practices, change requests, code documentation)
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years relevant application development experience including Java, HTML, XML, JSP and JavaScript in a PTC Windchill PLM environment.
Experience with SQL and interfacing to relational databases.
Understanding of, and hands on experience with, web-based application development.
Experience with integrated development environments like Eclipse and source code control systems like Subversion
Experience following a structured software engineering methodology
Strong spoken and written English language communication, solid organizational, verbal / written communication and presentation skills and strong problem solving skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects and work streams at one time and deliver results based on project deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team and to flex daily work schedule as needed to allow for time-zone differences for global teamwork, planning, communication and training.
Experience with CAD/CAM tools desired.
Experience with project planning and estimation desired.
Educational Required/Desired:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years minimum relevant Java application development experience.
