This individual will liaise with all areas of the IT development and infrastructure teams in Los Angeles to resolve urgent/critical issues raised by New York and London businesses.

Ensure that global IT department policies and procedures are followed.



Act as an advocate for the needs of the local business.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:



· Ensure local teams provide regular coverage (New York: 6:30am-6:30pm, London: 8am-6pm) and coverage for off-hours activities (e.g. support of local infrastructure changes, escort of vendors for data center access, annual building power down, and annual disaster recovery test).



· Ensure that helpdesk incidents follow standard procedures and policies.



· Ensure that local teams are working effectively with internal users and IT teams in Los Angeles.

· Develop work load transfer capabilities between London and New York IT.

· Develop IT metrics for monthly management reporting.

· Understand the IT needs of the NY & London businesses and raise potential IT issues to appropriate parties in order to minimize the risk to the business.

· Assist with providing business analysis, requirement analysis, test plans, and coordinate user acceptance testing as needed

· Participate in IT queue meetings and ensure that local business departments are participating as well.

· Participate in weekly change management meeting and ensure business units are kept informed.

· Review and approve local invoices (e.g. telecom, local hardware purchases, local service providers, market data).

· Prepare annual local IT budget and perform quarterly variance analysis.

· Represent IT department in local management committee meetings.

· Ensure that business units understand major IT department initiatives (including those that may not directly effect the local office, but require local regression testing signoff).

· Ensure that business units have good communication with their counterparts in Los Angeles for their tactical and strategic needs.

· Act as an advocate for local office for issues outstanding with California as needed.

· Ensure that Los Angeles IT management team is kept informed of significant system outages and key business developments.

· People Management: Manage IT staff in NY & London including: Conducting performance reviews, providing coaching to staff as needed; participating in the recruitment process as needed.



EXPERIENCE

· Experience working in financial service sector (e.g. buy-side, sell-side, hedge fund).

· Experience managing a helpdesk function

· Experience working with support teams located in different countries/time zones.

· Experience working with IT departments requiring indirect and influence based approach.

· Knowledge of Infrastructure system (e.g. data center, telecom, video conferencing).

· Experience in business analysis/project mgmt experience- a plus

· Experience working with disaster recovery vendor – a plus

· Experience managing staff in London-a plus

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge of Fixed Income investment management business, Fixed Income Securities, Separately Managed Account (SMA) business, FX trading and trade flow- a plus.
