Communications Engineer to $70000 JOB CODE EBABJA1


Responsibilities include:

  • Installation, configuration and ongoing monitoring of equipment using CiscoWorks, CaseSentry, MRTG, Packeteer and other SNMP network management tools.

 

  • Work with service providers on WAN and Internet connectivity, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution.

  • Ability to manage projects including developing network designs, configuring network equipment and implementation with documentation.

 

  • Maintain documentation of LAN/ MPLS WAN and WLAN using Visio, and inventory of hardware, services and vendors using Lotus Notes and MS Office.

    Requirements:

  • 4+ years LAN/WAN experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst 2900-6500 switches and Cisco 2600-3800 ISR, Aironet 1200 WAPs, Configuration and maintenance of Security appliances including RSA/SecurID, Cisco ASA SSL/IPSEC VPN and Radius servers.

·         Experience deploying and troubleshooting enterprise networks using BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols.  Experience configuring and troubleshooting, HSRP, QoS, Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP domain, and VLAN Trunking.

  • Excellent network analysis skills (performance, traffic, load balancing, failover, etc.) using packet analyzers and Packeteer) and vendor SLA compliance.
  • Thorough understanding of DNS, DHCP, SMTP and SNMP and WLANs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with management, engineering divisions, IT Support staff and vendors.
  • Ability to comprehend technical documentation and perform independent research for solutions to problems. 


Additional Skills and Experience:

 

  • Cisco WAN Accelerator – configuration, deployment and management.
  • CheckPoint & PIX Firewalls
  • Perimeter defense including IPS/IDS solutions

·         Familiarity with Business Continuity planning, design and testing

·         VoIP skills (deployment, network readiness, QOS tagging,) etc.

 

 

Certifications:

CCNA certification is preferred but demonstration of comparable skills may be accepted.

The Server Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. Where applicable, the Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.

 

 

Position Requirements

 

·        At least five years' equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments.

·        Advanced knowledge of at least 3 of the following: NT, W2K, 2003, Active Directory, Red Hat, Linux, Exchange, SQL, IIS, Proxy, Apache.

·        Specific knowledge of Citrix platforms required.

·        Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.

·        Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.

·        Strong familiarity with TCP/IP protocol, ISA firewall management, and operating system configuration.

·        General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.

·        Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.

·        Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies.

·        Project management skills a must.

·        Extensive application support experience with Terminal Server and Citrix.

·        Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
