FIXED INCOME BUSINESS ANALYST

Base salary: $100-115k

Bonus:  7%-10%
Global Financial Company is seeking a Fixed Income Business Analyst for Trading Systems Group in Downtown Manhattan.

Day-to-day responsibilities: Business Analyst supporting  the Bank's Trading Systems: Bloomberg TOMS/Gateway, SSEOMS, Auction Rate Securities, ECNs and Trade Interfaces (eSpeed, TradeWeb, BrokerTec and BondDesk), Customer Documentation Tracking, Data Warehouse and Reporting:

* Provide first level user and system applications support.
* Support multiple desktop and server based applications for Fixed Income trading and back office business units. Support system interfaces.
* Lead system enhancement and automation projects to support the above businesses.
* Analyze user requirements and write functional/system specifications. Develop, execute and document system test plans/results.
* Extensive interaction with users, software vendors, development staff and data center/infrastructure technical support.
* Liaison with Technology Infrastructure areas for Hardware planning, contingency testing, telecom issues and troubleshooting.

Business Skills: 
Technical knowledge/skills requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Computer Science
* 3-5 Years experience in Fixed Income trading businesses and systems, both front and back office.
* Experience with Bloomberg information products and TOMS. Strong knowledge of fixed income products: munis, treasuries, agencies, auction rate trading and mortgage-backed securities..
* Strong analytical skills, quantitative analysis and mathematical aptitude.
* Experience in systems / project management.
* Good negotiation skills with end users, vendor, other technology teams and multiple business units.
* Strong organization skills to coordinate and lead projects.
* Experience in a formal software development lifecycle methodology for projects and problem resolution.
* Strong Plus = Experienced with: C#/.NET, NT/WIN2K, MS-SQL Server, MS Office, reporting tools.

Description:

 

A Major financial organization, located in New York, NY (Midtown Location) is seeking a strong FIX Certification person. This person will support FIX gateway users on a day-to-day basis on any reported issues and resolve issues by closely working with trading support team and trade desk personnel. This person will be managing the configuration and testing of the FIX gateway providing client’s access for Order Management Systems and Algorithmic trading engines. This person will provide documentation on all customized scripting solutions and infrastructure and identify and validate software code fixes in response to support issues. This person will conduct technical diagnosis of operational problems on development and production environments. This person will work closely with product managers, developers and various internal customers to ensure smooth client deployments and work closely with internal support organizations and business unit to monitor the status of ongoing technology issues and expedite resolution.

• Preparation of test plans, test cases, test scripts

• Automation of test cases using in house system

• Execution of various manual and automated tests (including functional, regression, load, performance etc.)

• Analyzing test results, investigating problems to the detailed design level and providing solutions to these problems

• Recording and managing defects

• Designing, implementing, using and improving tools used for automated testing and other business improvement

• Development and planning of test campaigns and other activity

• Develop and maintain notes on certifications.

• Communicating and managing issues with customers and others

• Task management of specific activities assigned by manager

• Update proprietary FIX interface specifications and associated documentation as needed

• Work closely with the development organization to provide second-level FIX connectivity production support as needed
