" Ph.D in Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Computational Biology or related field, with bioinformatics/genomics/proteomics experience and training.
" Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups including software engineers, bench scientists, data analysts, and upper management.
" Experience with software design, user interface design and product management. Experience with Rosetta Resolver, Elucidator, Syllego systems is highly desirable.
" Experience with electronic medical records is highly desirable
" Ability to manage complex and shifting requirements. Project management experience is desirable.
" Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must.

Primary Responsibilities include:
" Serve as product manager for the Microsoft Amalga LifeScience platform. Interact with franchise and functional scientists to identify and prioritize data integration and analysis requirements, including integration with clinical data types. Define use cases and key needs, prioritize novel features and content enhancements and work with Microsoft personnel to collaboratively address these needs.
" Identify and coordinate with external vendors to evaluate and in-license software to enable effective solutions and to execute professional service projects to customize licensed product to meet Merck requirements for integrated genomic and proteomic analysis.
" Coordinate with product managers of other Molecular Informatics software tools to enable functional integration between internal and licensed tools and a coherent user experience

Scientist with skills in developing and translating genomic, proteomic, and genetic data analysis and visualization methods into effective software to help define and execute MRL software tool portfolio strategy to support translational medicine and genomic discovery efforts. The successful candidate will interact closely with biologists, chemists, analysts and clinical stakeholders to understand key informatics needs in the area of genomics, proteomics, genetics, medical informatics and integrative data analysis and will work with external software vendors including Microsoft to provide solutions to these needs which complement internal software development efforts
