Description: Successful securities trading firm with corporate locations in Montreal and New York is currently seeking System Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be an expert with Microsoft Server and Desktop Systems, VMware, Cisco equipment and associated technologies. This position will be responsible for the operational support, architecture design, server maintenance, backup, planning and integration for a server environment and supporting multiple trading floors. The System Administrator will be tasked with enterprise-wide responsibility for all windows related architecture, this includes assisting with desktop deployment and design practices.

Responsibilities will include:

· Manage, monitor and secure VMware Servers, Active Directory, Web Servers, and EMC SAN(ISCSI technology

· Respond, identify, prioritize, and isolate, the determination and resolution of significant problem events / system failures

· Ensure, for all systems, capacities are at acceptable levels, data is backed up, and implement archiving procedures

· Manage licenses and maintenance contracts for approved desktop and server software

· Plan for, communicate to management, and implement necessary upgrades as appropriate.

· Implement server and storage consolidation/migration as necessary.

· Maintain, create/delete user accounts, provide spam and anti-virus protection, develop Active Directory Group policies, and manage Active directory DNS maintenance

· Verify systems are properly protected and monitor network usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.

· Serve as point of escalation to assist Help Desk to resolve difficult user support issues.

· Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, maintenance and problem solving

· Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and policies, hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information

Quantifiable Skill Level Requirement (0 casual knowledge, 5 strong skills, 10 most knowledgeable in world) serious candidates only – firm employs testing to verify knowledge level.

· Windows 2008 - 8

· Dell/Cisco Hardware - 8

· Active Directory - 7

· VMware -10

· EMC VNXxxx -7

· PowerShell - 6

Qualitative Skill Requirements

· Excellent communication skills for interaction with project teams, business owners, senior management.

· Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent.

· MCITP and/or MCSE 2003 Required

· VCP 4.1, 5.0 Preferred

· CCNA Preferred
