Lead Software Engineer New York Citty

Participate in the design and development of a distributed, high availability, low latency, high throughput application server cloud as part of a ground-breaking client-server application development and deployment framework. This critical infrastructure must transparently provide common aspects to hosted applications, and provide a management interface to allow maintenance, deployment, and load distribution to occur in real-time.
The successful applicant for this position will participate in and drive all aspects of the SDLC. This will include requirements analysis (both functional and non-functional), architecture for scalability/availability/consistency, detailed design of sub-systems, prototype and production code development, performance testing and tuning, functional and load testing, as well as deployment and ongoing maintenance, support and continual enhancement. *Qualifications* This position requires a solid foundation in multi-threaded programming, distributed systems architecture and networking protocols and strong problem solving skills and a pragmatic approach to iterative development. Quality best practices are also essential, such as software validation techniques, design and implementation documentation, and robust code construction practices in C# and/or C++. This role is on the cutting edge of implementation approach and performance requirements. A highly proactive, self-motivated, fast learner is needed to research solutions and resolve technical challenges as they arise.s. High visibility, solid Mid-Level Support role focusing on environment and configuration management.
Responsibilities will include:- Implementation of new processes, features and subsystems into all environments - both PROD and TEST.
- Integration of third party products into existing trading system for all environments.
- Environment management, including upgrades, configuration changes and upgrades.
- Installations into the production, staging, and testing environments.
- Working with the QA team to facilitate testing for the next major release as well as current patch releases and rollouts.
- Backup to existing Build and Release Manager.
- The provision of extremely high levels of availability for the production, demonstration and test systems.
- Develop/Maintain any tools/utilities required for improving the build and deployment processes and managing/supporting the environments.
- Some development, including Support and QA tools, including maintenance of existing tools and applications. Background:
- Experience supporting an existing large system to very high levels of availability, ideally of financial and especially trading systems is desirable.
- Candidate in this role requires good communication skills as they will be dealing with internal customers on a regular basis.
- Flexibility to work with and learn new tools and technologies.

In this role you will be required to be flexible regarding work schedule, including occasional weekend duties and early morning shift coverage.

- Understanding Programming languages, both scripting and complied. (ie. C++ and Perl)
- Knowledge of SQL and Windows Server
