Job Description:	EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY   JOB TITLE:       Senior Unix Systems Administrator s105k +10% BONUS WALL STREET EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED-                                                                                                                                                               DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:   *         Responsible for administration of all Solaris/Linux and or apache Unix . These include: installation, backups, patch maintenance, performance tuning, monitoring results of cron jobs, scripting/automation of recurring tasks, day*to- day system resource management and monitoring. Work with Senior Developers, Network Administrator, Windows/NT administrators and Help Desk analysts to maintain day-to-day operations and resolve production issues. Work under direction from IT Operations Manager in the determination of deadlines & priorities for system maintenance tasks and Unix related infrastructure projects. Work with Microsoft System Engineers on *VERITAS Netbackup* or *Bakbone* configuration and administration. Perform start of the day system verification procedures to validate system state and availability, confirm successful execution of nightly batch processes and cron jobs, document instances of system and batch process failures in the ticketing system and resolve them expeditiously. Implement system alerts to notify IT Management of system unavailability. Work with the DBA to support Oracle Databases and optimize performance. Perform day-to-day system administration tasks such as monitoring of httpd & https processes, management of server access & error logs, monitoring disk space usage and archival, backup status, tape archive management, and other periodic maintenance tasks. Generate reports and maintain documentation per Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines. Perform MAC server related support functions (Mac Server OS X, X-Serve)  APLUS Provide expertise in areas of Unix Administration and backup assistance. Play pro-active user-support role in all deployed systems.  Perform monthly and quarterly SOX reviews including documenting results of such reviews. Perform periodic maintenance tasks, generate reports and maintain documentation related to Unix operations as required per SOX guidelines. *         Maintain all  systems to insure quality, reliability and performance. *         Implement environments to minimize downtime of Perform monthly and quarterly SOX reviews including documenting results of such reviews. OVERVIEW OF JOB

·        As a Software Engineer responsible for Websphere Administration, qualified candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, support, configuration and cloning of IBM Network Deployment Websphere Application servers, ITCAM and HTTP Web servers on z/OS and/or z/Linux platforms.

·        Four to six years working knowledge of z/OS, z/Linux, USS, DB2, CICS and MQ is required.

·        Candidate must have 2+ years of proven experience in installing and configuring Websphere version 5.1 or above and SSL Web server on z/OS or z/Linux platform; configuring applications using Websphere admin console and JACL scripts.  In-depth problem determination & resolution skills, Project management skills and excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.

·        Experience in J2EE programming is a plus.

·        Assignments are independently planned with approval required.

·        Assignments are highly complex and difficult in area of expertise.

 

Requirements

·        High school and technical school training or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
