REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

 

Strong project management skills, including the ability to drive and manage projects from conception to completion.

Experience building cross-device user-friendly web interfaces.

A strong portfolio of digital properties

5+ years experience leading the design and development of websites and other interactive experiences.

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the managing the design, development, QA and roll-out of all interactive projects for a marketing team. This includes marketing websites, content marketing sites, mobile applications and other items as needed.

Communicate website strategy, and roadmap

Responsible for coordinating with executive leadership

Responsible to be the internal subject matter expert in the latest digital technologies and strategies.

Evaluate market research, customer trends, and website technological advancements to recommend and champion development initiatives, and new content management tools, to improve the delivery of content and efficiency of website operations.

Coordinate with marketing team members and IT UI/UX team to ensure consistent visual branding and messaging across all interactive media.

Work on the primary market research and industry best practices to guide design and development of marketing websites and mobile experiences.

Be knowledgeable about copy and manage the creation of compelling content that supports the university messaging strategy and drives demand for the school

Responsible for working with the testing team to create user tests that inform and help guide decision making that improve conversion rates.

Manage the testing team to help develop the multivariate testing strategy to continuously improve the effectiveness of our interactive web properties.

Manage multiple projects, budgets, deadlines, and deliver work that drives our business forward.

Responsible for managing downtime challenges and mitigating risk.

Responsible for hiring, firing and development of the web development team. Responsible for scaling up additional resources as needed for bigger development projects.

Description:   

The Technical Architect performs work assignments at a high technical level as part of a project team; may at times act in a project leader or technical leader role; will heavily engage in solutions development based on high level and/or detailed business requirements; will develop architectures based on these solutions; researches and possibly develops technologies thought to be profitable or necessary for the business segment and/or enterprise; performs design, programming, development, and implementation of web-based products for new and existing clients.  Projects include enhancements to existing products/systems, new product development, and enterprise solution architecture.

 

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

- Bachelors degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, MIS, or related degree program AND 10+ years related work experience, including technical leadership roles; OR and equivalent combination of education and experience

- Demonstrated experience with API and Service Oriented development to achieve Platform as a Service capability

- Demonstrated agile experience with Scrum and/or Kanban

- Served as technical leader or equivalent for large teams (10+ individuals)

- Strong skills and experience utilizing various Microsoft development tools, TFS, Visual Studio, etc.

- Strong experience with daily application builds, continuous integration, gated checkins, automated unit testing

 

UI Architect:

- Demonstrated strong experience developing with VB.Net, Visual Basic, JQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, ASP, C#, HTML, DHTML and XML

- Strong demonstrated experience and knowledge of MVC pattern

- Understanding and knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and higher, T-SQL development, (SSIS and SSAS is a strong plus)

- Strong demonstrated experience and knowledge of developing services with WCF, Service Broker, Entity Framework (strong plus)

- Strong demonstrated experience in application performance tuning throughout the application tiers

- Strong knowledge and experience with application security (authentication and authorization), utilizing Active Directory, ADFS (strong plus)

 

Database Architect:

- Strong demonstrated experience and knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and higher, (knowledge of SQL Server 2014 is a strong plus), T-SQL development, SSIS, SSAS

- Strong demonstrated experience in application performance tuning at the database level
