Description:    Will be flexible for someone with multi-petabyte experience

 

REQUIREMENTS

•       3+ years of experience within a dedicated storage engineer role

•       Knowledge of diverse storage solutions; EMC and Netapp required, Qnap, Whiptail, HDS preferred

•       Knowledge of backup systems in large organization as well as Symantec Netbackup software suite required

•       Knowledge in brocade FC switching as well as Cisco MDS required

•       Deployment of and configuration of storage to Windows 2003/8 and Red Hat servers

•       Identification of the most appropriate storage solutions for diverse applications

•       Analysis of performance stats and configuration across a range of storage solutions

•       Configuration and deployment of storage solutions to maximize server performance and security

•       Experience in driving Infrastructure Strategy for storage Management

•       Understanding of WAN/LAN/SAN(fc) constraints related to centralized storage in virtualized environment (Cisco UCS)

•       Experience with concepts like dynamic tiering & allocation, deduplication, replication and snapshots

•       Ability to transform storage architecture requirements to working solutions

•       Thorough knowledge of storage deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance technologies and their deployment

•       Experienced of supporting a wide range of technology solutions in large scale production environments spanning multiple storage solutions

•       Excellence in team working including across virtual and multi-location teams

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•       3rd level support of SAN and NAS environment globally

•       Design and provision of storage across EMC Vmax, VNX, Qnap, Netapp, Whiptail, HDS storage solutions to support database and virtualization solutions

•       Resolution, analysis and root cause analysis for storage based issues within all production and non production environments

•       Centralized configuration and capacity management for all storage arrays across MSCI

•       Maintain technical documentation

Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, or comparable experience

5+ years of experience growing and managing software development teams

10+ years software development experience

Track-record of building fast, reliable, large, distributed, scalable, service-oriented web services

Person should be working with a content provider or streaming service.

Familiar and comfortable with the technologies, the tradeoffs, and the design patterns emerging in cloud computing.

Proven experience in building simple & intuitive user interfaces.

Recruit and lead stars.

Excellent communications skills

Ability to work with internal & external resources (3rd party systems, vendors, etc.) and seamlessly integrate into development efforts.

 

Responsibilities

Define metadata standards for digital asset packages with our content partners worldwide- Build tools to efficiently manage and track packages and assets

Architect and develop scalable, highly available solutions that run in an EC2 environment

Integrate with large file delivery/acceleration products and services

Build and integrate with tools to automate qualify and conformity verification

Build crowd sourcing tools for enhanced metadata, subtitles, QC etc.

Build a secure portal and API for internal users and external partners to integrate and work with the partners to manage the integration and optimization of the stack.
