Provide desktop and executive support, network support for headquarters users as well as users at multiple locations in NYC.
Work closely with decision makers in other departments to define, recommend, develop, implement, and support technology solutions for all aspects of the company (new projects). Help to identify and implement IT policies, new feature roll outs, and long term planning for the company's infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Maintaining current systems as well as evaluate, recommend, test and install new hardware and software as appropriate (Currently a 2003 environment. They will upgrade)
• Lead CRM systems selection and responsible for implementation and management of successful solution
• Recommend new hardware and software solutions
• Act as liaison to vendors and outside software and hardware support
• Sources best pricing and functionality for all potential purchases and upgrades
• Supports the following hardware/software/IT infrastructure systems: server support for servers: Windows NT file server, Windows Server 2000/2003, Symantec Corp. Anti-virus Server, and Mac OSX file server; Microsoft Exchange 2007; Blackberry Server; File maker Pro; ADP Payroll; Great Plains Dynamics; 3Com VOIP phone system; Sonic Wall Firewall Internet Security Appliance, POS systems, and other industry specific hardware and software.
• Resolve IT operational and user issues by understanding key underlying issues and determine system improvements, then implementing changes; determine IT operations service requirements by analyzing needs of users/departments
• Provide end user software and hardware support for approximately 75 employees at corporate and remote offices in the New York City area; 95% of users currently operate in an XP environment with an additional 5 Macintosh OSX workstations; process requests for IT access and necessary hardware set up for employees
• Oversees new hire computer and cell phone purchases: manages set up, training on hardware and software, and maintenance
• Maintains and utilize Help Desk support software to prioritize and respond to users requests for IT support/issues and point of sale systems
Requirements:
• 5+ years' hands-on experience
• 4 year degree preferred; technology major a plus. Must have worked in busy environment, ideally at growth company with several locations.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of employees and clients, up to and including senior management. Must be comfortable functioning as an individual contributor
• Solid communication skills, both oral and written. Record of strong customer satisfaction with clients and employees. Great work ethic
• Ability to keep up with changing technology, and adapt to company requirements and changing needs
• Experience identifying and implementing IT policies and participating in long range technology planning
• Familiarity with IT contingency planning applications preferred
• Hospitality applications or experience/knowledge of the hospitality industry a plus
