Description: 
This position will support the development of automated test scripts, test cases and set the standards for QA frameworks. Candidate should have excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as exceptional technical skills. Must be detail oriented and able to efficiently complete tasks on time. Candidate must understand QA methodologies and processes. Knowledgeable of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (UML/RUP). Knowledgeable about database design and modeling. Strong expertise in all phases of SDLC. 



Responsibilities: 



Requirements Analysis and Requirements Traceability Analysis 
Design robust test cases and procedures from requirement specifications 
Implement and review automated test cases 
Automated unit testing, functional testing, system-level integration testing, end-to-end testing and acceptance testing. 
Ensure all product releases meet or exceed defined quality goals 
Work with development teams to facilitate and advise unit, performance, and stress testing 
Test new applications as well as continue ongoing, repeatable testing for existing applications 

Desirable: 
Specific knowledge of Investment Bank/Financial products and services a plus 
Experience working with trading applications would be a definite plus 

Education: B.S degree in computers or finance 
Platforms: Windows AS/400 
GUI Systems: Equities Trading Applications 
Database Systems: SQL Server, Sybase or Oracle 
Other Programming Skills (is a Plus): Java, C++.VB 
Business Knowledge: Financial, FIX, CMS 
Communication Skills: Good Communication

PAID RELOCATION AVAILABLE 

Individual will be responsible for leading settlement related initiatives while managing day to day activities of a small team of developers and business analysts. This position will be responsible for recommending strategic and tactical changes in work flows considering the integration of both third party vendor solutions and proprietary systems pertaining to middle and back office support departments. The candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements and creating functional and non-functional specifications and regularly meet with the end user to review overall effectiveness and tackle problems related to settlement functionality. 

Act as senior business and system analyst to translate client needs into business requirements and system specifications; work with business users across functional groups to truly and systematically identify business problems and propose innovative solutions; communicate requirements to developers and provide guidance for creating test plan and test cases 
Manage projects through software development lifecycle and deliver good quality solutions under tight schedule and budget. Coordinate with project leads and developers in pertinent IT groups for necessary changes to mitigate system dependencies and ensure successful delivery 

Competencies: 
Extensive business and system analysis working experience with good understanding of popular requirement management (i.e. RUP) and change control management methodologies 
Has good knowledge in asset management principles, settlements and allocation processes for complex fixed income instruments 
Strong understanding of, or experience in, a fixed income management company or middle/back office environment required 
Clearly understand purposes, objectives, practices and procedures of the Trade Processing, Settlements, and Fund Accounting departments and related business units 
Has a good knowledge and experience with product and project management and familiar with various product management and software project development lifecycle methodologies 

Has good understanding of basic technologies such as database, Java, and other front end technologies; Be able to communicate requirements in technical language and understand system dependencies in technical level 

Specifications: 
Requires 6+ years experience in business and system analysis, writing functional and non-functional requirements for complicated business problems in financial service industry 
Requires 5+ years experience in product or project management for complicated financial systems 
Require good knowledge of fixed income securities, prefer specific knowledge in TBA, MBS/ABS, SWAP 
Requires 10+ years of information systems experience, prefer in financial service industry

Mid-sized investment management company seeks a Business Systems Analyst to assist the Technology Manager with systems integration and technology support tasks. 

FIRM 
Entrepreneurial firm with successful multi-strategy funds of hedge funds. Consistently ranked among top-quartile funds of hedge funds by consultant and industry databases. The firm has grown assets under management considerably since launching in January 2002. Principals are former hedge fund managers with extensive relationships in the investment industry. 

DESCRIPTION 
The Business Systems Analyst will assist the Technology Manager in the following: 
. Implementing enhancements to proprietary data warehouse and reporting system (Microsoft SQL platform) 
. Writing and optimizing SQL Stored Procedures for reporting and ETL routines 
. Designing visually pleasing Microsoft Reporting Services reports for internal and client reporting purposes 
. Integration between the data warehouse and a 3rd-party portfolio management system 
. Assisting portfolio analysts with ad-hoc SQL querying requests 
. Some general IT troubleshooting and support tasks 
. Potential ASP.Net web design work for intranet portal site 

Occasional long hours required. A collegial, professional and collaborative work environment. Potential to increase role as firm increases assets under management and investment offerings. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE 
. 2-3 years experience as a programmer, developer, business analyst or similar position 
. Ability to interface with non-technical employees to gather requirements and implement solutions 
. Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science preferable, but not required 
. Strong SQL skills (Microsoft SQL Server preferred, but must have SQL knowledge for this job) 
. Experience in or desire to learn about the investment management industry 
. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Integration Services is a plus 
. Experience with web design and programming, especially ASP.Net is a plus
