The Business Intelligence Architect (BIA)/Senior Strategic Consultant is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic consulting services to support Higher Education Institutional Intelligence solutions. Initially, the candidate who fills this role will serve as the Subject Matter Expert responsible for the innovation of Strategic Services in the Business Intelligence arena for our clients. Part of this services innovation will include the development and articulation of a common Business Intelligence services methodology and vision.
This position requires an individual who is able to fill two very different roles. The first is the role of an entrepreneur, capable of designing and growing new services and business opportunities that are aligned with the company’s direction and needs. The second, but equally important, role is as a leader within the industry.
Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the design and creation of complex reports for senior executives is essential, as is knowledge of current reporting tools (Cognos a plus), scorecarding methodologies, data warehousing and strategy.
The preferred candidate will have a strong background in institutional research and demonstrated leadership in the field of business intelligence, reporting, and business process analysis. The preferred candidate will have a commitment to work across enterprises -- both within the firm and at an institution, be familiar with the market challenges in higher education, and have an understanding of performance strategies, available market and demographic research, and experience with emerging technologies in business intelligence. The candidate should have a strategic understanding of academic policy and procedures, financial aid, budgeting, and possess a competitive drive to succeed.
Position Requirements Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
• Experience in professional consulting, business intelligence, reporting, metrics development, business process analysis, planning, and new services development
• Proven demonstration of an entrepreneurial mind-set
• Ability to execute with efficiency and quality
• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on collaboration across different organizations
• Proven history of effecting positive change in work environments
• Positive, team-oriented individual with the ability and desire to motivate, lead, and innovate
• Ability to create, and develop solutions that have the capability of transforming the way higher education conducts their business in regards to student recruitment and retention
• A minimum of five years of experience within the higher education sector
• Extensive experience in management, leadership, consulting, including discovery, solutions definition, strategy, executive presentations, facilitation, documentation, implementation, business process modeling, change management, re-engineering, complex problem solving, technology, analysis and evaluation
• Strong understanding of technologies including; enterprise wide systems, web technologies, content management, document management, identity and access management, data warehousing, reporting, dashboards, scorecards
• Demonstrated professionalism, both in appearance and conduct
