Primary Skills:
Description: Responsible for the Engineering department, and overall power plant technical issues. This includes Engineering leadership, resolving all technical service issues, monitoring trends in engine hardware reliability and engine performance, providing technical substantiation and implementation of cost reduction initiatives, dispositioning non-conforming material, initiating repairs and inspection criteria to extend hardware service life, engine work-scope definition, assembly and test cell support, and generally managing technical projects.
Provide technical assistance to Quality, Operations, New Product Introduction, Customers, and other organizations. Make recommendations for product requirements or process improvements. Perform assignments requiring ingenuity and originality but based on sound engineering principles.
Interact with support groups and departments. Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives. Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical, project and program reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 4-year Bachelor of Science degree and 5 - 15 years of Engineering/ Manufacturing experience.
• Extensive and demonstrable experience in data analysis, problem solving, and solution implementation.
• Proven leadership skills exercised at all levels – individual, team, organization.
• Extensive experience in continuous improvement methodology like ACE, Lean and Kaizen.
• Strong understanding of and utilization of EH&S and quality management systems and processes.
• Strong project management experience
• Strong technical customer relations skills.
• Strong presentation skills: able to convey ideas to multiple disciplines or multiple levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10 years of Engineering experience plus 3-5 years of leadership/management experience
• Aerospace Engineering degree Mechanical Engineering degree Industrial Engineering degree Masters degree
• Experience on P&WC engine models (PT6, JT15D, PW300, PW500)
• Hands-on leader in the direction, training, mentoring and development of technical individual and teams.
• Experience in supervision/management in an aerospace aftermarket service environment
Additional Information:
Must be willing to work extended hours occasional travel
Candidate Must Have : Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, 5+ years of Engineering / Manufacturing experience, 10+ years preferred, Strong project management skills, Lean Manufacturing Experience
