Enterprise Integration Services is seeking a Middleware Specialist to work in our Downtown Manhattan office in the Enterprise Architecture and Web Services Division in support of its shared services. You will implement, integrate and provide support for our middleware shared services for real-time mission critical applications.
Responsibilities:
• Participates in middleware strategic planning and consulting on middleware platform selection, and usage of enhanced functionality currently in use.
• Responsible for the functional design and architecture of integrated shared services across all technologies and platforms.
• Assists team in providing on-site and on-call support 24 hours a day and 7 days a week as needed for problem identification and resolution support through analysis and research.
• Communicate with business professionals on business considerations, integration and conversion activities.
• Subject matter expert to identify and solve the most complex and critical middleware shared service issues. Functions as a senior-level resource on middleware issues around policy and standards.
Required Business Skills:
• Experience as a mainframe / Open Systems analyst/designer/architect.
• Experience with all of the following technologies is required:
o "C" (must have strong background), COBOL
o Mainframe (z/OS: JCL, CICS, etc.), UNIX
o IBM WebSphere MQ
• Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus:
o HP OpenVMS, Windows
o IMS (z/OS)
o J2EE (EJB, JMS, Servlets, JSP)
o J2EE application server (BEA WebLogic and/or IBM WebSphere preferred)
o .NET
o Relational databases using ODBC and JDBC (IBM DB2 preferred)
Additional experience needed:
• Must have previously implemented strategies for shared services architecture on different platforms.
• Must have expertise in the major functions of middleware platforms and the design, development and maintenance of middleware services that manage transaction and data flow on multiple technologies, platforms and products.
• Must also have significant experience with designing and integrating complex, heterogeneous application and middleware implementations.
• Must be an experienced problem solver.
• Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and procedures a plus and must have a proven track record designing enterprise services for large-scale applications.
Minimum 6 to 8 years middleware experience required. Job holder must have previously implemented strategies for database architecture and consulted on migrating, integrating and selecting platforms for a variety of wide-impact applications. S/he must have expertise in the major functions of middleware platforms and the design, development and maintenance of middleware systems that manage transaction and data flow on multiple technologies, platforms and products. Must also have significant experience with designing and integrating complex, heterogeneous application and middleware implementations. Job holder must be knowledgeable in performance considerations for complex, distributed environments and aware of industry benchmarks for multiple technology environments. S/he must be an experienced problem solver
S/he also participates in middleware strategic planning and consulting on middleware platform selection, version implementation, software product recommendation and usage of enhanced functionality.
