Experience & Skills 

3-5 years exp working with mortgage analysis or mortgage collateral applications and a thorough understanding of the mortgage markets and mortgage products with a technology focus 
Excellent quantitative skills and experience with quantitative valuation models such as MIAC, Yield Book and QRM 
Participated in medium to large size cross departmental project team 
Managed phases of a small to mid-sized technology or business project 
Skilled in design and development of OLTP system 
Skilled in the design of multi-tiered client/server applications 
Familiar with the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of vendor supplied solutions 
Good working knowledge of Microsoft and SQL. Experience writing SQL queries 
Systems Analysis and Design 
Process/Work Flow Design 
Skilled in project management techniques and one or more Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies 


Analysis 

Analyze the business processes related to automation initiatives in the Mortgage Banking, Mortgage Warehousing and Collateral Valuation and Management arena 
Identify and evaluate potential opportunities to enable the business through the use of technology 
Define, document and validate business requirements. Review business requirements with internal/vend or specialists and ensure understanding 
Facilitate and perform analysis of actual versus estimated technology costs 


Project Management 

Assist in defining the scope of technology and business projects 
Identify and communicate project expectations and objectives 
Assist the business in reviewing potential vendor and internally developed solutions 
Develop, communicate and monitor project plans 
Manage, facilitate and/or execute user acceptance testing 
Provide implementation assistance for IT developed and vendor applications 
Facilitate post-implementation reviews and documentation of ‘lessons learned’ 
Identify, communicate, monitor and help resolve project issues 
Develop and coordinate training materials for end-users 
Provide the necessary level of project management and control to keep all assigned projects on schedule 


Business 

Provide linkage between the business and technology groups through relationship management. Facilitate communication and act as the liaison between the business line(s and IT 
Represent the business in enterprise-wide projects 
Assist the business in prioritizing and justifying technology projects 

Education 
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science preferred. MBA in Business or Computer Science is a plus

Java PLUS Powerbuilder, Visual Basic (VB for keyword searching purposes) or Delphi 

Provide the necessary level of project management and control to keep all assigned projects on schedule 
Conduct business area analysis, requirements definition, logical and detailed design, coding, testing, and implementation for all assigned development projects, according to departmental policies and procedures 
Must be able to successfully complete small development projects in a timely and cost effective manner with minimal supervision 
Provide full support for all assigned application systems. System support includes, but is not limited to: problem resolution (business and non-business hours), user support, and system maintenance 
Assist the project manager and end users in identifying and recommending automated solutions to business problems 
Perform all other duties as assigned 
Technical Skills 

Basic working knowledge of the following DBMS: 
o Sybase ASE 
o Microsoft SQL Server 
o Oracle 
Knowledge of software development programming at the level indicated: 
o Proficient in Java/J2EE development 
o Basic knowledge of JavaScript/ASP development 
o Working knowledge of PowerBuilder or equivalent development tool(s) 
o Basic proficiency in GUI application design and development in a 
Windows environment 
o Proficient in SQL development – Transact SQL and/or PL/SQL 
o Basic knowledge of application development in a UNIX environment 
o Basic knowledge of UNIX & Windows 
o One or more Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies 
o Proficient in OLTP systems design & development 
o Basic knowledge of design and development of two-tiered client/server 
and n-tiered applications 
o Familiar with the design and development of distributed applications 
o Familiar with OO analysis and design 
o Ability to gather and analyze data and draw logical conclusions 

Non Technical Skills 
Communicates clearly and concisely 
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships at all levels 
Strong passion for software development 

Education 
Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science preferred 

Three years of software development
