The responsibilities of a typical System Administration are as follows:
• Responsible for Linux and Unix system administration tasks in development, QA and production environments. Also responsible for some Windows XP and 2003 Server administrator tasks.
• Build tools and scripts to automate the installation and trouble shooting of the systems.
• Preferred experience with Nagios, Cacti and other network monitoring tools.
• Experience in integrated mixed environments preferred (Windows, Solaris, Linux)
• Maintain web/ftp proxy using Squid Web-Caching Proxy with access control
• Remote support for our 2 other international locations and help them integrate with our global infrastructure
• Deliver new ideas and solutions for creating a faster and better systems environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science 3-5 years of experience in Linux and Solaris
• RedHat Linux AS3-5, Solaris 8, 10
• Apache, MySQL, Postfix, BIND, NFS, NTP, DHCP, CIFS/Samba, PHP, LDAP, NIS, Shell scripting, Perl, TCP/IP, nmap, LDAP, Ethereal, etc.
• Excellent Linux troubleshooting skills
• Network troubleshooting skills, thorough understanding of network protocols and servers/services (NFS, NIS, DHCP, etc)
• Basic Shell Scripting and Perl Scripting
• Excellent communication skills
• Motivation and self-determination to learn and grow.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

DESIRABLE SKILLS:
• Kickstart, Windows Server 2003 2007, VMWare, XEN
• Experience in Financial Services or a related field.
