Description:   

REQUIREMENTS

 

•         4 year degree in Computer Science or related field.

•         10+ years experience in Database Design and Architecture.

•         Experience as an architectural leader.

•         Ability to understand and work in large code base.

•         Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

•         Experience with database design patterns, data analytics, and data-oriented frameworks.

•         Complete understanding of the Web Service Oriented and Service Oriented Architectures.

•         Proficient SQL developer.  Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.

•         Able to read and understand Java and C# code.

 

Experience designing and developing data models, database schemas, and SQL for large scale applications with high availability and reliability, ideally in a SaaS environment.

Extensive experience with relational database systems and SQL in high volume transactional applications; MySQL is a must.

Strong ability to troubleshoot software and database problems.

Experience with NoSQL: Solr, Mongo.

Experience with data warehouse.

Experience with object-oriented design and development techniques, using PHP and Java.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES​

 

•         Lead, drive and define database standards for cloud based products.  Define database strategy, database design & development standards and SDLC, database customization & extension patterns, database deployment and upgrade methods, database integration patterns, and data governance policies.

•         Gather on-site requirements from internal product owners.  Translate requirements into extensible data models for  Cloud applications.

•         Architect and develop database schema, indexing strategies, views, and stored procedures for  Cloud applications.

•         Define and implement strategy for data services to be used by Cloud and web-based applications.

•         Evaluate and monitor performance and scalability of the data tier.

•         Build or select tools and implement processes to manage schema and data across environments and product releases.

•         Establish a central source for documentation of the databases used in Cloud applications (Data Dictionary).

•         Provide input to business strategies for cloud-based functionality, including hosting options, maintenance strategies, and opportunities for business partnerships.

•         Provide training, leadership and oversight for cloud based product development across all products and regions.
