Our client, located in the Wall Street area of Manhattan wants to hire a full time employee as a Senior Network Engineer. In this role, you would be the lead planner and network engineer working on trading systems.financial trading environment experience needed. This is a hands-on automous role requiring the following experience.
Cisco Nexus knowledge
Project Management skills
Change Management methodologies impacting overall systems and projects
Third level support
Documentation
Responsibilities to include:
Lead planner, and network engineer
Consistently improves on knowledge, experience, teamwork and education (BS, MS and Certifications)
Uses applicable methodologies, tools, standards & procedures to accomplish project goals and system troubleshooting.
Provides high level distributed system architecture documentation, concepts, practices and procedures.
Provides in depth mentoring, training, leadership and education to group of network & computer analysts.
Manages telecom vendor relationship & evaluations.
Makes analysis & modification(s) to trading system communications.
Responsible for analyzing and proactively managing problems and making final decisions that impact overall system(s) and project(s).
Active participant and educator in technology community (within and outside of workplace).
Ensure change management methodologies are being used for network projects.
Interfaces with IT and business groups for Network related projects.
Required Experience
- provide training on new design and project being implemented
- provide training on new technologies and new hardware platforms
- research, document and present new technologies
§ Customer Service:
- final escalation point for isolating, troubleshooting and documenting network related problems
- liaison with other technical groups
- liaison with the business to provide information of the network for new initiatives
- level 3 support for any kind of issue
- involvement and ownership of network related issues
§ Quality of produced work:
- comply to Change Management process
- deliver quality documentation
- ensure work / configuration is delivered with high quality standards
§ Project Management:
- comply to PMO methodology
- manage and deliver network project in a controlled manner
§ Ensure that projects are delivered on time, in budget and with out interruption to the business
§ Budget control:
- make sure cost containment is maintained through-out the network project and in general
- provide cost analysis to network project
§ Education / Experience:
- network / security certification is a plus
- bachelor degree or equivalent job experience required / masters in IT preferred
- project management experience
- Cisco Nexus platform
- technology industry experience
- financial service experience
