MSSQL Server Developer - - - -



This new position will provide database and Extract, Translate and Load (ETL) support to Development DBA and Reporting teams.

Job responsibilities include all tasks associated with MS SQL database development while acting as a SQL Server Developer, Database Administrator, Data Warehouse Architect, and ETL developer.

The ideal candidates will have strong technical background and forward thinking approach to architecting a denormalized MS SQL data warehouse that is effective in retrieving e data from existing Excel spreadsheets, other SQL database and PostGres databases. Also needed is very strong communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment.



Key Qualifying Factors:


- 5+ years SQL Server 2005 and 2008 programming and database administration

- Data Warehouse design and development experience
- Provide database programming support and troubleshooting to multiple IT projects
- Must have strong experience Developing SQL Server Integration Services (i.e., SSIS) packages

- Must have strong experience designing star schemas using ERwin

- SQL programming, T-SQL, triggers, and stored procedures
- Building/maintaining SQL Server database replications
- Enhancing SQL Server database performance (performance enhancements)

We're seeking world class technologists to help build the tools and engines used by our world-class quantitative analysts and high frequency researchers.

Candidates should have: 2 or more years of professional experience in automated trading, scientific computing, algorithm development or pattern recognition; a background developing large-scale, real-time and distributed applications; experience in developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications using several different programming languages including Java and C++ and knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL, Python and UNIX shell. Each of our quant developers has at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or a hard science from a top university, and strong numerical programming skills. The candidate must be capable of accurate completion of federal and state tax returns, studying tax regulations; searching out and evaluating tax options with minimal supervision and guidance; computing taxes and other projects as assigned.

1. Preparation of Federal and State Returns for CORP and subsidiaries on CCH Prosystems (approximately 15 returns in total)
2. Review of book fixed asset records, and maintenance of tax fixed asset records
3. Review of apportionment schedules prepared by US business unit and utilization of same schedules in preparation of state tax returns.
4. Prepare estimated income tax payment computations
5. Prepare accrual to return analysis and assist in FAS 109 and Fin 48 tax accounting
6. Prepares and analyzes accounting and tax records, reports and files
7. Maintains tax calendar
8. Prepare annual reports and personal property tax reports where required
9. Review Form 90.22, Annual Report of Foreign Bank Accounts.
10. Review IRS Forms 5471 for all foreign subsidiaries
11. Prepare Forms 5500 for the company’s 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan and Health and Life Benefits Plan and review plan testing results for the plan
12. Reconcile income tax accounts each month
13. Maintenance of tax credit and carryforward schedules
14. May be called upon to assist accounting staff in performance of internal audits at domestic and foreign locations of the company
15. Record and maintain copies of foreign income tax filings and obtain copies of returns for files.
16. Perform tax research on US and international tax issues to identify tax saving opportunities

Ideal Candidate must possess the following skills/attributes:
1. Four years of corporate tax accounting and tax compliance experience in either public accounting or in the manufacturing industry.
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or Tax, Masters degree preferred
3. Strong experience in use of CCH Prosystem tax preparation software
4. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
5. Experience with CCH and BNA Tax research materials
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
7. Strong Organizational Skills –self starter who can take on tasks with minimal direction as well as detail oriented
8. Experience in supervising direct reports
