Primary Skills:        
Description:    will look across all applications and technologies to optimize performance across the enterprise for supported applications. Working as a highly technical, senior manager this candidate will make recommendations on performance tools, application coding, database calls or configuration changes to optimize application performance. This candidate will work closely with the infrastructure, application development teams and will plan for a comprehensive tool set. The selected tool set will be applied to solve specific business problems related to application performance. Following up to ensure the changes recommended have been made and are effective based upon detailed metrics collected. Candidate will drive and lead the load testing of applications within the group and work with a small highly skilled technical team in resolving any issues that might arise from that load testing. This candidate will work across multiple technical teams (Operations, Infrastructure, A&E, database, network, desktop and Application Development) helping prevent or solve any performance issues that might arise. Candidate will work with our application suppliers on specific issues. 

Must have a minimum of 15+ years working in a large scale enterprise real time online) system, prefer server/web based technologies in a problem solving, design or development leadership role. Application performance background is a must. Must be well versed in all infrastructure technologies (network, virtualization, servers and database) as well middleware and application containers (MQ, WMB and WAS). Well versed on virtualization technologies such as VMware and or IBM's Power7 platform. Familiar with the unique application performance challenges presented by virtualization. Ability to use modern deep code analytics tools, extract critical information and formulate strategy to deploy corrective solutions. As the need arises make recommendations on specific tooling to close any gaps in key metrics collected. 

Databases: Oracle , SQL 
Java, WAS and Websphere Message Broker (WMB) 
VMware, Power 7, RedHat, AIX and Windows 
Cognos a plus 
PL/SQL or comparable reporting tool for analytical reports. 
MS Office PowerPoint, Word, Visio, above average presentation skills both verbal and written. 
Background in deep analytics tools such as OpNet, CA ALM (Wily), CIRBA, Webtrends or similar products. 
Strong background on SOA, XML and Web background. 

International travel to Ireland or the UK (twice a year).
