Job Description

The MQSeries Administrator will manage the MQSeries messaging environment across multiple environments. Job responsibilities will include installation, configuration and maintenance of MQSeries 5.3; Installation of patches and CSDs, troubleshooting daily issues such as Channel Connection problems across multiple firewalls, interacting with network staff to resolve connectivity issues; S/he will interact with application staff to resolve messaging issues and trace messages from origin to destination as well as define various MQ Objects and set up MQ monitoring utilizing BMC patrol. The candidate must have a high level of motivation in learning new middleware technologies such as Websphere, Message Broker Technologies, Pervasive Data Integrator, Cognos ReportNet and/or BMC Patrol. Knowledge of any of these products would be considered a big plus.

Qualification Requirements

1. A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using mainframe, mini- or micro-computer technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing, at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or 4. Education and experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three years of experience as described in "1" above, including the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

Essential Skills

A basic understanding of admin functions in both Windows and AIX environments, including basic shell scripting. Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills are also required. Proven experience with MQSeries 5.3 Admin running on AIX and Windows platforms. Must be self-motivated and work well independently and as a team member.

Function:

    • Administer the data warehouse and related decision support facilities.
    • Perform the activities related to the design, development, documentation, and support of the Bank's data warehouse data model/architecture and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, maintenance and utilization.
    • Set and monitor standards related to the data warehouse data model.
    • Assist the business intelligence architect and project manager in the management of the Bank's data warehouse environment.

Requirements:

    • At minimum an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or comparable discipline is preferred.

This Application Developer position will support business process redesign and systems implementations within the PROSPER program and beyond. Key IT initiatives within the program include the implementation of a trade order management system, an investments data hub and data warehouse, and performance attribution and fixed income analytics systems, as well as compliance and allocation process automation and improvements.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop, enhance, and maintain investment applications in support of business operations. Required technical skills include:
