Qualifications 
* A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 
* 3+ years of full life-cycle web applications development experience with Java/J2EE or other frameworks, application servers and Apache 
* 3+ years of hands-on C/C++ development experience on UNIX 
* Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Modular/ Object-Oriented design 
* Experience with database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) 
* Knowledge of XML, JavaScript, PHP, and Perl 
* Strong verbal and written communication skills 
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
* Knowledge of Struts, JSF, Symphony or other MVC frameworks is a plus 
* Working knowledge of the financial markets is a plus

Netezza Data Warehousing and Architecture 

§ 3+ years strong experience in Netezza architecture and design 

§ 5+ years strong Oracle 10G, PL/SQL experience 

§ Proficient in Netezza Performance Tuning and data distribution strategy 

§ Experience with very large data set platforms 

Informatica ETL Design and Architecture 

§ 5+ years of experience in Informatica ETL architecture, design and development 

§ Must have worked on ETL applications involving multiple sources of different types with unique design challenges 

§ Proficient in ETL best practices, standards and processes 

§ Informatica architecture and administration knowledge is a plus 

Unix/Shell Scripting/Programming 

§ Strong knowledge on UNIX environment (desired) 

§ Strong Shell scripting knowledge (ksh preferred) 

§ Strong Autosys experience (desired) 

§ Knowledge on Java/J2EE is a plus 

Job Skills & Experience 

§ Understanding of sell-side Sales & Trading businesses, including familiarity with Fixed Income, Equities, and Currencies/Rates products 

§ Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with various groups at all levels, including Front / Middle Office, COO, CTO, Technology teams and Client Services. Soft skills include assertiveness, influencing and diplomacy skills. Demonstrated ability to present viable solutions and obtain buy-in, and be able to understand and manage the sensitivities of multiple stakeholders 

§ Self-motivated. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously 

§ Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills required 

§ 5-7+ years investment banking/broker dealer experience preferred 

§ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
