Junior QA Analyst - (US-NY-New York)

Location is Union Square, New York.
The QA Analyst will work closely with the development team and the Project Managers in New York and Europe to identify bugs and analyze their causes and greater effects on the main website based application as a whole. The QA Analyst must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills especially when determining severity of bugs.
This position reports directly to the Technical Project Manager but will also take some direction from the CTO who is also located in NYC as well as the Business Project Manager who is located in Europe.
Must have some recent experience doing QA on web based applications.
Must have about one year experience with Selenium, writing tests.
An understanding of XML is important
Some Python scripting (for creating tests in Selenium) Ability to either read or script in PHP.
The specific responsibilities of the QA Analyst are listed below:
* Reproduce and document bugs reported by internal staff or external
users
* Interact with staff or users to gain better understanding of bugs
reported
* Identify exact steps to reproduce reported bugs
* Document reproducible bugs in tickets for development team to address
* Test new features and bug fixes in the website staging environment
as they are developed/fixed during each code release cycle
* Regression testing standard functionality after each code deploy
* Proactively update regression test to include new features as
necessary
* Document test plans for easy distribution to new resources
* Generate reports from database as requested by business team
* Escalate major bugs to Project Managers or the CTO for immediate
prioritization based on severity judgment
* Augment general web site application documentation after each
release
* Will contribute to requirements documents for automated testing
systems
