Five to seven years of directly related, progressively responsible accounting experience are required. Minimum of four years in mid to large size CPA firm required, preferably with one of the Big 4. Minimum three years supervisory experience required. Must be CPA. Extensive reporting experience in not-for-profit environment is required. Must have experience motivating Accounting Department managers and staff in meeting deadlines and working on major projects. Must have excellent project management experience and skills.
Related Skills or Knowledge: Must have Great Plains and FRX reporting experience. Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent customer service skills are required, including but not limited to properly answering phone calls, being able to built customer trust and rapport, have active listening skills, able to solve problems, have excellent communication skills including being able to convey accounting information in easy to understand terms, able to manage customer expectations, able to control stress, knows business e-mail etiquette, and able to create customer loyalty. Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, problem resolution, and organizational skills with the ability to be flexible, work independently, and pay attention to details. Must have excellent account analysis/reconciliation skills, being able to prepare complex analysis and reconciliations. Must be a take charge leader who prides on achieving results and meeting deadlines. Able to work well in a matrixed-organization structure and flexible to shift priorities as demands from our customers and governance shift. Must be a take charge leader who prides on achieving results and meeting deadlines. Must work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines concurrently and be able to adjust working hours to demands and deadlines. Must be a team player helping the department achieve all major projects, including those that may be under the leadership of other Finance managers. Must be internal controls oriented and pay attention to detail. Requires an ability to work with a diverse staff, as well as sensitivity to diversity.
