Experience managing VMHosts in SAN environment w/ boot from SAN configuration desirable. ·         Thorough knowledge and experience in installing, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows XP & Vista. ·         Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 (provisioning databases; privilege management; maintenance plans; performance; replication; scheduling & management of jobs) ·         Exchange Server 2000/2003 installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting expertise with 2007 experience preferred, but not required ·         Network administration experience (LAN/WAN connectivity, network architecture, network security concepts, managed switches, QoS, VLANs, TCP/IP concepts). CCNA certification a plus. ·         Experience in software deployment/maintenance via Symantec Ghost, Intellimirror, and WSUS a plus. ·         Experience installing, configuring, administrating, and troubleshooting terminal services. Citrix Access Essentials or Presentation Server a plus. ·         Experience managing & maintaining enterprise backup system. Symantec BackupExec a plus. Senior Unix/Linux Internet Proxy and Gateway Engineer

 

In this role you will work as a UNIX/LINUX Systems Administrator and will operate independently with little to no intervention from more senior staff members in resolving all but the most complex problems.  The primary functions of this position are the ability to support and develop Internet gateway, messaging and proxy technologies and resolve any L3 gateway issues.  In this role you will also provide formal documentation and analysis of all implementation efforts and ensure that the documentation is available and updated regularly. You will also interact with other  groups to ensure availability, automation and alerts monitoring of all systems are maintained.

 

To be considered for this role you need to have 3 plus years of experience working in a UNIX and Linux environment. Experience programming in Perl and Unix Shell scripting is essential. Current or previous project experience with Web services, content filtering and proxy services is also required. Previous experience with SMTP email systems (Iron mail or Iron Port or Sendmail), Web Proxy Infrastructure (Squid or Smartfilter), FTP and SOCKS proxy solutions, naming services (DNS, LDAP, and QIP) is desirable. This position will require you to take part in on-call administrative and support for escalations from Level 1 and Level 2 24X7 teams. Other desirable skills include working knowledge of Aventail or bulkemail solutions and programming experience with C, C++, Python or Expect.
