Description:
This is a role within a new team responsible for developing and implementing the Company’s global Business Intelligence roadmap and toolset. This role will work closely with the Commercial, Finance and IT functions to identify system solutions that improve management reporting, analysis and business decisions. This position is responsible for the technical aspects of support & development of several Hyperion applications and will require extensive knowledge of the Hyperion product modules including Hyperion Essbase, Planning, Reporting services, BI, FDM, ODI, OBIEE & Excel add-ins and tools.
Responsibilities:
• Business Intelligence. Assist in the development and execution of the company-wide Business Intelligence Strategy
• Hyperion Application Design: Design and develop new ways to capture, catalogue, and access important financial and operational data sets that will be leveraged by a variety of Business Intelligence tools. For example, create new Essbase cubes or tables within an Oracle Data Warehouse.
• Hyperion Application Upgrade: Perform routine upgrades and enhancements to the existing Hyperion Applications (HFM, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Essbase, etc.) to accommodate organizational or management reporting changes.
• Business Process Automation: Work with finance and commercial professionals to understand and document business processes and find ways to leverage the BI toolset to automate the process to allow for more consistent, accurate and timely capture and presentation of data
• Primary Hyperion Toolset Integration: Enhance the design and integration of HFP, FDM, HFM and Essbase to ensure architecture and data are consistent across all systems and allow for timely transition of data from one system to another.
• Application Maintenance: Assist in managing ongoing maintenance of the BI toolsets and data sets
• Training: Assist in providing training and support to end-user group
• Ad-hoc Analysis: Supports management with special projects relating to the retrieval and organization of business and industry data.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of database architecture and administration
• In depth Hyperion application knowledge required
• Understands dependencies and interrelationships between functional components of Hyperion toolset forms, business rules, calculation scripts, Maxl scripts, variables and databases
• Working knowledge of Windows/Linux
• Experience with Oracle, Solomon, JDE, MSGP, Kingdee and/or other accounting systems a major plus
• Understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow)
• Knowledge of working with Hyperion toolsets across a global organization, including currency conversion rules, a major plus
Education and Experience
• BS or MS with 3-5 years Hyperion development experience
• Hands on experience with Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Essbase, including cube development; version 11 preferred.
• Experience building forms, writing reports, writing scripts (calculation & Maxl), setting up database tables, loading and extracting system data
• Experience using the Essbase Excel add-in and SmartView
• Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
