The Lead Engineer reports directly to the SVP DSP Engineering who has direct responsibility to the CTO. The Lead Engineer works closely with the Architect, Product Manager, and the Engineering Team ensuring that the Engineers are following coding best practices and implementing Services and APIs to Specification. 

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of code delivered by the Engineering Team. The Lead Engineer will also work with other Leads including Architects and Reliability Engineers to ensure that all code is created following a TDD based approach. 

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities: 

? Coding, Coding, Coding 

? Implementation of Core Services APIs/Interfaces 

? Collaborating with Architects and other Engineering Leads to ensure that Code Standards are met 

? Actively participate in Sprint Planning with Product Manager, Architect and Engineering Team 

? Work to resolve code quality issues with Reliability Engineers (QA/Test) 

? Holding Code Reviews with Architects and The Engineering Team 

? Building out Services, Interfaces, and Integrations that are consistent across all Products and Projects 

? Assist in building Continuous Integration and Deployment Models with Reliability Engineers 


Required Competencies/Skills: 
? Proven track record in Coding 
? Proven experience with Agile (experience with Scrum and/or Kanban) 
? Experience coding in JVM based language(s) and/or Ruby 
? Experience in TDD based Development 
? Extensive experience with Services, Integrations, and appropriate code libraries 
? Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Models 

Special Requirements/Preferences: 
? Must be multilingual 
? OSS Participation (Both Code Contributions and Community Involvement) a big plus 
? Startup experience preferred 
? Experience working with distributed teams including on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore 

Education Required/Preferred: 
? 10+ years in Software Engineering 
? Bachelors Degree (But not necessarily in Computer Science or related discipline)
