C++ Software Engineer - (US-MD-Lanham)

1 Year Assignment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance (having one is not a requirement)
Software design, development, maintenance and documentation of Geostationary Environmental Operational Satellites (GOES) ground segment components. The candidate will be conducting quality assurance, test planning and analysis as well. Applicant must have experience in understanding and implementing NOAA GOES Satellite real-time ground software systems or other similar mission-critical systems. Candidates with experience in Server/Client technology based systems, Image Navigation and Registration, image processing, landmarking algorithms, well as GOES generated GVAR products are preferred.
Must have 3 - 5 years experience with real-time mission-critical systems.
Must have excellent C/C++ programming skills in a Unix/Solaris environment.
Experience with PV Wave, Tcl/tk, System Integration and Testing, and Configuration Management using Razor.
Experience with NOAA GOES Operational Software systems is preferred.
Must have excellent oral & written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively understand client requirements and produce results that meet expectations.
