Quality Assurance Analyst who will be responsible for testing the portfolio management and order entry applications used by account executives and sales assistants to manage their accounts.  Testing will include progressive, integration, usability, data integrity, negative, functional and regression testing in order to ensure the applications meet the business needs of the user community.  The individual will be responsible for determining issues, assessing the severity of the issues and clearly reporting the issues via a bug tracking tool.  Strong communication skills are essential for initial issue description and for follow up clarification with development.  The individual must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently and work independently.

Minimum Requirement

Platforms:  Windows XP

GUI Systems:  Mercury Quality Center experience a plus.

Other Programming Skills:

Business Knowledge:  Working knowledge of the brokerage industry is essential.  Understanding brokerage accounting practices, client reporting and a cursory understanding of trading systems is required.

Project Experience:

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written skills are essential.  Candidate must be able to explain complex business related issues to developers both via phone calls and entry of data into issue tracking software.

Sr. Electronic Trading Systems Developer

 

The programmer/analyst’s primary responsibility will be maintenance and enhancement of Foreign Exchange and metals trading systems as a member of a fast passed development team.  Candidates with prior algorithmic trading or electronic arbitrage experience are desired to support and grow our existing electronic trading business.  Knowledge of FX and metals markets is required.  Candidates must be hands on technologists with strong object oriented development and design skills.  Java and C++ are used heavily in the existing platforms so proficiency in both is essential.

 

Skill Required:

·          Must have good verbal and written communication skills

·          5+ years of Object Oriented Programming experience in Java/C++

·          Knowledge of messaging, networking and multi-threaded programming

·          Foreign Exchange and metals trading system experience is required

·          Working knowledge of UNIX and Windows environments

·          Database programming experience

 

Skills Desired:

·          Electronic arbitrage and algorithmic trading experience are big pluses.

·          Knowledge of FIX protocol and FIX engines is a big plus (Transactools is preferable)

DESCRIPTION:

 

The incumbent UNIX Engineer will participate in the design, installation, maintenance and support of the development, test, q/a and production UNIX server infrastructure, including but not limited to the operating system, hardware and related support applications. The individual is expected to participate in troubleshooting complex technical support issues as part of an energetic, enthusiastic and highly experienced/motivated team of professional support engineers.  The individual will also be expected to participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and prototyping of new solutions as they pertain to day to day operations and/or as a project deliverable.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Participate in day to day operational activities related to UNIX/SOLARIS/LINUX infrastructure installation, integration, maintenance and support.

·         Manage and support production internet infrastructure.

·         Demonstrate knowledge of supporting and administering a complex and rapidly growing Solaris/Linux server environment and related components.

·         Provide support to Application Product Managers and developers.

·         Participate in various projects related to design and implementation of new and/or existing infrastructure.

·         Troubleshoot all production environment issues.

·         Work with vendors to identify and  implement 3rd party solutions

·         Participate simultaneously in day to day responsibilities while completing project oriented deliverables.

·         Demonstrate skill at clearly and concisely communicating detailed information regarding the environment with  co-workers,  senior management, and vendors.

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Support production application environments.

·         Administer and support all aspects of the EMC SAN environment.

·         Administer and support all aspects of the Solaris/Linux server environment including operating systems and SPARC/x86 servers.

·         Manage and maintain in-house developed and 3rd party monitoring tools.

·         Manage production application distribution system.

·         Veritas Netbackup, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Volume Manager, Solstice Disk Suite.

·         SUN/HP Disk/memory/cpu hands-on skills

The Federal Software Group is seeking an experienced Software IT Architect with at least 8 years of experience designing SOA-based defense and intelligence applications for the US Federal Government. Applicants need prior experience with IBM Software products (DB2, WAS or Content Manager preferred). Experience with Competitive SW products would be an acceptable alternative. Applicant must be a US Citizen due to the Federal Clearance requirements. An Active TS Clearance is preferred but will consider candidates who are qualified & have the ability to acquire a clearance on a fast-track. Candidates must posses a background in development and application architecture.
