Specific Technical Knowledge and Experience Required:

§ 10+ years of delivering enterprise level Java applications
§ Experience of delivering Swing applications via Java Webstart
§ Experience building applications and services which utilize Oracle PL/SQL and JDBC
§ Proven knowledge of different client server communication models including Web services, JMS and EJB
§ Strong written and verbal communication skills
§ Strong object-oriented application design and development skills
§ Knowledge of design patterns including ones for UI development
§ Knowledge and experience in Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration
§ Knowledge of open source UI component libraries
§ Basic knowledge of distributed systems including J2EE and Web Services.

Specific Technical Knowledge and Experience Desired:
§ Knowledge of third party tools including Swing X, JIDE and JXlayer
§ Application Server experience including Web logic and JBOSS
§ Maven and Ant Build experience
§ Web Application Development Experience, Java scripts GWT would be a plus
§ Experience with Continuous Integration build environments such as Hudson or Anthill Pro
§ Fixed Income or Financial services experience would be a plus

Company uses a SaaS model and expect the Manager to work closely with the development team. This is a very heavy data environment with over 600,000 lines of code.

This person should be able to implement and document a formal QA process. The appropriate person for this position will be hands on in this role and should expect to do a fair share of manual testing from day one. As the team grows they will not be required to do as much hands on work.

· Report to a C-level executive and have regular direct access to the CEO
· Work at a senior level (strategy) and at a “get your hands dirty” level (producing the actual materials)
· Run all of our business-to-business communications (we do not sell directly to individuals)
· Develop a global communications strategy that works towards our goals of:
o Increasing IA’s profile in print and other media by at least 30% over the first year;
o Increasing IA’s communication with clients & prospects by email and other means by at least 80% in the first year;
o Increasing IA’s name recognition among target clients by at least 50% over the first year
· Develop templates and approaches to marketing material – both print and electronic
· Develop a communications and marketing budget with our Controller and Sales/Marketing staff including ways to quantify the contribution PR and marketing make to IA’s revenue and profits
· Create, coordinate and distribute all IA press releases; Maintain existing good relationships with journalists and cultivate new relationships with key journalists. Increase IA’s press coverage by 30% over first year
· Create marketing material for a variety of audiences that balances technical and non-technical information

Experience
· Your experience (we think 3-7 years is about right)
· How well you communicate – orally and in writing. Yes, we’re going to ask for samples.
· Your technical writing skills for software / SaaS technology companies in the financial services space,
· Your experience with print and TV journalists, social media, blogs, twitter, etc.
