* Build and develop back end system components using a J2EE-based framework
* Works with lead developer to during all phases of the software development release cycle
* Documents code to ensure supportability and maintainability of core system assets
* Writes unit tests to ensure code coverage
* Promotes shared ownership in the code-base and assists other developers
* Mentors junior developers when needed
Requirements:
* 5+ years of developing complex Java / J2EE applications
* Experience working with modular, component based systems
* Experience building software using scrum/agile methodologies
* Experience developing high-volume transactional systems
* Experience writing unit tests
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Experience working in a team environment
* Strong experience leveraging open source frameworks as part of building software solutions
* BS in Computer Science or related degree
Technical Skills - Required:

* Spring and related frameworks (Hibernate, Acegi etc...) (3+ years)
* Experience building Service Oriented Architectures using SOAP/REST (3+ years)
* Experience publishing/consuming APIs (2+ years)
* Hands-on experience using RDBMS systems, especially MySQL Databases (5+ years)
* XML and related technologies (XQuery, XPath) (2+ years)
* Lucene/Compass and/or other search technologies (2+ years)
* JUnit (2+ years)
* Linux (5+ years)

Work with a team of people who are passionate and want to build stuff that hasn't been built before. Chelsea / GramaRcy Park location in Manhattan.
Responsibilities:
* Designs, develops, and maintains front end and back end functionality using web technologies including PHP, MySQL, XML, Flash, XHTML and Javascript
* Develops clean, portable front end code for range of projects, including: web sites, landing pages, and internal applications
* Identifies, creates and maintains development frameworks and code libraries
* Participates in peer code reviews
* Maintains best software development standards and practices
Requirements:
* Experience with LAMP environment: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML, and Web 2.0 applications
* Extensive front end web development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery and AJAX
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Experience working in a team environment
* Strong experience leveraging open source frameworks as part of building software solutions
* Must be able to handle a variety of tasks, effectively solve problems with numerous and complex variables, and be able to shift priorities as needed

* Capable of automating repetitive tasks while knowing when manual testing is the best approach
* Works well in a team environment
