Requirements: 
- 5 years of software development with 5 years of Java coding experience. 
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

- Experience with Agile testing methodologies including test-driven development

Plusses:

- Deep experience with MySql (or equivalent) with performance tuning experience 
- Experience with scaling infrastructure to support large-scale systems, including applications, databases, message queues, and caching strategies. 
- Experience building a platform for aggregating and analyzing data from millions of transactions a day. 
- Apache Solr/Lucene 
- Large volume XML, JSON and HTML parsers and generators 
- Perl, GIT, RSS/ATOM, ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ 
- Experience building web crawlers 
- Big Data: Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra

Description:    Participate in the compilation of Statutory financial statements and exhibits for two insurance companies in accordance with internal and external due dates. Acquire complete knowledge of the Corporation’s General Ledger and Annual Statement systems in order to take lead role in supporting these systems. Analyze results of operations and financial position and other key indicators. Responsible for resolving reinsurance issues and analysis. Support special projects and corporate initiatives. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
· Record Wins book monthly including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations. Research and document all fluctuations for both Wins books and all reinsurance matters. 
· Determine monthly premium accruals. 
· Prepare key financial schedules including: Control Sheets, Flash reports and KPI report 
· Perform all accounting for PL claims unit including recording weekly journal entries, monthly reconciliation, follow up on open balances with PL unit members. 
· Complete Accreditation report quarterly 
· Handle all deductible accounting needed including LCF and nonadmitted calculations. 
· Quarterly Statement schedule preparation including: Notes to Financials, General Interrogatories, Part 3 for assigned book and Schedule Y 
· Complete assigned Asset Impairment Test documents for: aged ceded premiums recoverable and PL receivables 
· Annual Statement schedule preparation including: Notes to Financials, General Interrogatories, Schedule P for assigned book and Schedule Y 
· Participate in Financial Audits/Reviews with E&Y. Respond to all applicable audit requests timely and accurately. 
· Handle all assigned state annual statement filing requirements including state specific Special Schedule Ps. 
· Coordinate annual Ambest SRQ filing. 
· Letter of Credit estimation 
· Document all procedures that are not yet documented. Update existing documents that need modification. 
· Research, interpret and apply statutory literature to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
· Responsible for in depth understanding and analysis of corporate results. Perform trend analysis, research and analyze issues of strategic significance and prepare financial models. 
· Responsible for the integrity of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts through reconciliations 
· Responsible for full understanding of reinsurance scheme in order to scrutinize reinsurance results and monitor open balances. 
· Act as backup for other accounting department functions. 
· Provide general support to department managers including reviewing staff members work, research and creating reports. 
· Provide special project support as needed. 

Must have a Degree and 5+ years exp
