Description: Responsible for all facets of safety valve, relief valve, and vents in a manufacturing facility.
This includes:
• Performs pressure safety design and sizing on all capital and expense projects
• Supervises inspection activities of all pressure safety devices
• Purchases pressure safety devices
• Reviews of inspection activities and corrective actions
• Conducts pressure safety review (scenario development), recommending improvements when needed, and re-sizing where required as a component of all unit HazOps
• Ensures compliance with codes, standards and best practices for pressure safety equipment
• Leads incident investigations involving a pressure relief incident, using root cause analysis, and other techniques
Qualifications:
• BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, MS with 2-6+ years or PHD 0-4 years
• Experience or training in sizing relief devices
• Experience performing engineering calculations involving two-phase flow
• Working knowledge of statistics, computer operations, process control, root cause analysis and advanced chemical engineering principles are essential
• Ability to effectively lead a team (PHA, HAZOP, etc…) of individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Strong communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel
