Support 35 or so people.  What they want is someone with floor support experience, experience with  Market Data feeds (they use Reuters and Bloomberg) who won't get intimidated by a tough group of traders, Exchange and Active Directory experience (adding group memberships, resetting passwords, disable user accounts).

 

 

Again, salary to 105 K plus bonus.

JAVA DEVELOPER - NYC

 

 

 Mid to senior level Java Software Developer experienced in two and three tier applications with very strong business analysis and front end design skills.

Position will be embedded within our Purchasing business unit and will act as the requirements liaison for the end users. Candidate must be able to work independently and remotely. Position is 4 days in NY and 1 day a week in NJ (Dayton).

The candidate will be responsible for the design and development of applications alongside the NJ team members and will become the lead developer for the business unit. The candidate must be comfortable working on all aspects of the development life cycle and must have strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.  
 
Must be adept in Java, Jboss, SQL Server,  Windows Server 2000/2003, Solaris, Netbeans IDE, and a three-tier EJB development approach.
 
Required Experience:

5+ years experience using Java programming language
5+ years SQL database programming experience
5+ years experience using a graphical IDE such as Netbeans or Eclipse
3+ years experience with CVS or similar code versioning system
Experience with requirements analysis
Excellent communication skills
Read, write and derive business requirements, often obtained directly from users.
Read, understand, and troubleshoot existing Java and SQL code.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment where requirements change.
Ability to thoroughly test your work against business requirements.

Oracle experience a plus

Qualifications

* Minimum of two years work experience programming in a windows environment with Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows API.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Design, modify, develop, write and implement software applications.

* Perform code reviews and unit testing.
* Create test instructions for the QA department to confirm that applications meet specifications.
* Communicate with users to analyze and understand the functions to be automated, user needs, objectives, desired features, and input and output requirements.
* Write and maintain functional and technical specifications using MS Word.
* Research and evaluate software and hardware to assist in programming and to use as program platforms.
* Provide technical assistance to the Technical Support department, as well as participation in end user training.
* Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
