The Quantitative Risk Department is responsible for developing new models, analytic processes and system approaches for the Risk Management Department and performing impact studies to support proposals to the Board of Directors.

Principal Responsibilities

Assist in identifying financial risk issues and providing solutions

Participate in the development of risk management tools by enhancing existing analytical models and focusing on designing and implementing new models (e.g. VaR, back test, stress test, etc.)

Assist in the construction and maintenance of a library of models to support enterprise wide risk management

Conduct research and perform integration of new products into existing risk model


Experience

2+ year’s relevant Quantitative Risk Management experience.



Knowledge/Skills

Working knowledge of SQL and other programming languages.

Knowledge and experience with quantitative methods such as VaR, interest rate models

Mathematical background with strong quantitative skills.

Familiarity with equity & fixed income products

Hands-on experience in implementing, analyzing, and calibrating high performance mathematical models.


Education, Training or Certification

Ph.D. in quantitative disciplines required.

Extensive training in applied mathematics

· 8+ years experience developing increasingly complex and sophisticated software, of which 4 years were at the senior/architect level
· Experience architecting complex large scale systems incorporating packaged and custom applications
· 5-7 years experience in core Java and J2EE custom-software development
· 5+ years managing and mentoring team of direct reports
· Experience with test-driven development, Agile software development, preferably XP, and customer-centric software development practices
· Strong Struts, Spring, and Webflow 1/2 and object/relationship modeling experience (Torque, Hibernate, IBATIS, etc.)
· Strong knowledge of Design Patterns and UML
· Excellent knowledge in Object Oriented analysis, design and programming
· Ability to plan technical architecture and develop documentation
· Experience with ORM framework with PostGres, MS SQL or other Relational Database backend a strong plus.
· Experience developing in Linux, Apache, Tomcat
· Strong experience with unit testing technologies (Junit, HttpUnit, etc)
· Experience in JSF (e.g. JBoss RichFaces)
· Experience with JavaScript, including AJAX and JSON (Dojo a plus)

· Architect and develop scalable applications in a dynamic environment, using Java, Struts, and Spring Framework.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects, and to coordinate the work of others.
· Lead Architectural initiatives and develop architectural methodology and specifications
