DBA skills in support of Windchill enterprise system deployment cycles.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a multi-faceted role which involves enterprise system design, implementation, operations, integration, application development, database administration and operating system support leveraging evolving IT technologies and business solutions targeting Product Engineering, QA, Manufacturing and other related business areas.
PTC Windchill document management and collaborative product suite is the primary development and support area.
Refined skills in this product and the Oracle DB for development are core to success.
A particular focus Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration tools is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot Windchill(V8.0) technical issues and develop timely solutions, providing excellent customer support and service.
Engineering System analysis, design, implementation, integration - specialty in product design data flow.
Application Development utililizing Java technologies including JSP, JMS, XML, Soap, JDBC etc.
System research and recommendations.
Oracle DB/SQL knowledge.
Operating System administration skills including Tomcat and Apache support.
Excellent MS Office Suite skills.
Available for non-business hours support.
Continuously develop knowledge in PTC products, Java, Oracle and other technologies involving the Windchill solution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ yrs Server Operating System administration.
Excellent Written Communication skills.
Excellent Oral Communication skills.
Excellent Customer Service and support skills.
Knowledge of 21CFR and change control required.
Knowledge of product data flow required.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ yrs System Analysis, Development, Implementation, Support for Engineering, QA, Mfg - PTC Windchill infrastructure design, development and support is required.
3+ yrs Application Development - client/server, Java, engineering applications.
2+ yrs ProE/Windchill system administration (ProE/Windchill integration knowledge a big plus).

Percent Travel Required 10%

Roles & Responsibilities:

Ensure the appropriate backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster, and maintain a tested technology business recovery plan in the event of a business disruption.

Requirements
Qualifications:
.12+ years experience developing, architecting and managing online applications
.7+ years building and managing technical teams
.Experience managing multiple projects as project manager including expertise in password authentication solutions and educational platform frameworks and design.
.Experience working in a Microsoft environment including SQL Server, Exchange, networking, storage and security, web design, load balancing, SQL syntax, ColdFusion and customer service databases
.Experience managing the network infrastructure of 24/7 high availability systems.
.Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to be part of a rapidly growing Educational company

Education: Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science or equivalent; Masters degree a plus, or equivalent experience. Prior experience in small business highly desired.

The new hire will be a member of the IT-Analytics Risk Management team within the Application Delivery group. As part of this group, the individual will be responsible for facilitating a stable and cost-effective market data infrastructure to be used by other systems and business units across the firm. More specifically, he/she will apply the use and knowledge of JAVA in the design and development of market data business processes and technologies and will also play a key role in supporting the business operations reliant on market data, particularly for the Analytics Risk Management team.

Responsibilities/Duties:
· Works with Business Analyst/Project Lead in the design and implementation of market data-related solutions.
· Successful applicant will be responsible building Ab Initio ETL graphs for processes and load routines, preparing business and technical documentation, and will provide mentoring in Ab Initio
· Helps to identify gaps and areas for improvement to enhance the state of current processes.
· Diagnoses, solves and communicates production issues to ensure a timely recovery and minimal impact to our business users.
· Analyzes requirements, designs solutions, and tests code prior to releases in order to maintain the integrity of our systems as well as the stability and reliability of supported processes.
· Abides to industry best practices and change management procedures when implementing changes to new or existing code.
· Produces technical design documentation based on thorough understanding of business requirements.


Competencies:
· Expertise with all tiers of Java; Extensive experience with JSP/ Struts, EJB, Swing, Weblogic and Core Java are required; Knowledge of JMS, JDBC and Perl are a plus.
· Candidate must have solid experience in the analysis, design and development of Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) mechanism using Ab Initio or similar systems.
· Prepare/implement data verification and testing methods for the Data Warehouse
· Solid knowledge of relational database design, Oracle or Sybase
· Experience with analysis, design and development of investment applications and processes.
· Creative problem-solving skills, recognizing multiple potential solutions to a given problem, and being able to identify and justify the optimum solution
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to implement previously developed technical designs
· Good oral and written communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
· Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently, balancing each so that required project dates are met.
· Familiarity with Market Data providers, systems and feeds
· Experience in asset management a plus.
