Qualifications
8+ years corporate income tax experience and 4+ years management experience in major accounting firm, law firm, financial services company or multinational company.
U.S. Tax reporting and compliance expertise and expertise in US tax rules
 
Knowledge of technical tax withholding, reporting and compliance
Experience influencing processes, policies and procedures consistent with corporate values and tax laws
Track record for implementing significant improvements to existing processes
Ability to independently evaluate tax issues and apply sound business judgment with minimal oversight
 
Preferred Skills
Bachelor''s Degree, Juris Doctorate, Masters of Taxation or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
Experience with technology and tax functions
Experience in filing 1099 reports and 1042 reports to include the data capture, validation, production and distribution of these reports
Experience leading operations in a financial services environment including experience leading tax reporting teams through process design / re-engineering initiatives with quantifiable results
Strong influence and negotiation skills
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior / executive management. Must be able to take complicated subject matters and effectively present recommendation and options
Proven project management and coordination skills and experience managing direct reports.
Leadership experience with senior management interaction.
Demonstrated strong communication skills to communicate complex tax issues, opportunities, and risks to non-tax experts in a clear and concise manner.
 
This position will establish and adhere to routines for effective control management and oversight of onboarding, withholding, reporting and compliance requirements champion and sustain a process based environment develop successful partnerships within the tax team as well as develop and maintain effective communication and strong working relationships within and across other teams - specifically with the Corporate, Municipal & Escrow Services group, Structured Product Services group, Shareowner Services, Corporate Trust Operations, Corporate Tax, Legal, Risk Management and other internal and external parties.

5+ years accounting experience and 3+ years management experience.
 
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have
• a minimum of 6 years of direct, relevant and recent accounting/audit/risk work experience
• a BA/BS in Accounting (preferred) or Finance and,
• 3 years of proven leadership and management experience.
 
The candidate must
 
• be able to evaluate processes, identify exposures, and evaluate controls
• be effective working across organizational boundaries to assess complex, interdependent processes, identify accountabilities and facilitate team sessions on process and control optimization

The position will be located in Charlotte, NC and will require capability for some business travel.
 
Preferred Skills
Work experience within the financial services industry and public accounting and/or audit experience is a strong plus as is a relevant professional designation such as CPA, CIA or MBA.
