Job Description:
 
Candidate will develop and support all internally developed applications used by the business. A very significant portion of the work is supporting and enhancing existing applications. Candidate must be able to independently trace through existing application code to add additional features or solve problems. Development is done with a combination of ASP, Access, and VB.NET. Applications reside on the web and on customer desktops. Candidate will regularly receive help requests from customers tracked in a ticket system and respond to those requests in a timely manner. Ability to work well with a variety of customers is a must. Candidate will also build reports, assist in the update of intranet pages, set up email campaigns, and occasionally hold classes to teach our customers Microsoft Office products.

Description:

Member of the SEC Reporting Group. The group prepares the Form 10-Ks (Annual Report),Form 10-Qs (quarterly reports) and quarterly Earnings Releases to be filed with the SEC. Position requires moderate to strong understanding of FASB, SEC and other sources of accounting and disclosure requirements for the financial services industry, application of those requirements to the businesses of the Company, and the ability to spot data issues through analysis of financial detail from the general ledger and off-ledger information provided by Company business units. 

You will be involved with implementing new FASB and SEC rules and regulations and must be able to understand and communicate complex accounting issues. You may interact with many important financial and reporting groups of the Company, such as Investor Relations, Corporate Credit, Treasury, ALCO, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal and the business unit group controllers and their reporting teams.
 

You will contribute to one or more disclosure groups, which oversee the quality of processes for gathering necessary disclosure information and develop the relevant commentary and financial disclosures for the external reports quarterly.
 

The position will involve periodic research to develop strong understanding on selected accounting and disclosures, working closely with the Accounting Policy group, and reviewing peer reporting for best practices.
 

Minimum Qualifications
 
Four years of accounting experience (preferably at least two years in public accounting and auditing)
 
Experience with preparation of financial statements and SEC 10-Q/Ks
 
Working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations
 
Moderate to strong working knowledge of FASB accounting and disclosure requirements for the financial services industry
 
Ability to identify, research and offer recommended solutions for moderate to complex financial reporting issues
 
Strong proficiency in Excel and Word
 

Preferred Skills
 
CPA (or CPA candidate) with at least
 
Experience with general ledger and Hyperion Essbase
 
Understanding of XBRL requirements and experience with XBRL tagging
 
Project management experience for moderate to complex projects
