Will be responsible for providing application support to trading systems.

Responsibilities to include:
Provide application and environment administration of trading systems.
Support the testing and implementation of complex trading applications.
Manage installations and configurations of application software for Production and Test environments on multiple platforms.
Implement and handle emergency bug fixes.
Assist with release management and change management processes of the trading systems.
Build knowledge base to provide support in emergency situations to L1 support staff.
Define, coordinate and assist with operational acceptance testing and weekend test activities.
Provide application and system support for internal departments including Computer Operations, QA, Development, Product Management and Technology Member Services.
Submit, track and manage issues/defects discovered in production and during testing.
Troubleshoot and diagnose trading system problems.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Set priorities and organize work to complete project responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
Manage open trading systems issues with internal customers and vendors.
Required Experience

Global buy side / institutional investment firm, headquartered in New York City, is adding a Data and Voice Network Engineer to their Global Enterprise Technology team.

As a member of Communications Implementations and Operations, you will be part of a team of approximately 12 with responsibilities for engineering and implementing the client's global network, which includes participating in a 24 x 7x 365 on-call rotation. The network spans about 20 countries and you will be involved with both domestic and international projects.

More specifically, you will be involved designing and implementing data and voice projects for our clients and vendors. This includes the full life cycle of the project including requirements gathering; design, implementation of all network facilities (hardware, circuits etc); vendor and carrier relations; thorough documentation and some continuing support. You will be expected to become involved in the evaluation of new data and voice concepts and technologies on an as needed and supplementary basis.

To be qualified, you must be an experienced engineer with capablity of immediately making a difference. You will need to apply sound voice and data network design and implementation practices in order to meet all project requirements. You will function as Project Leader on some initiatives, and as a team member on others.You must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and mentor more junior team members.

Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years data / voice network experience, with at least 1 year in a similar role.
• In depth understanding of Network Management tools.
• In depth understanding of Cisco routers and switches, specifically the Catalyst 3750 and 6500 product lines and the 7206VXR, 3800/2800 Platforms, 3600, and 2600 model routers.
• In depth understanding of TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, NAT, Access-Lists, route redistribution, IP Multicast, VoIP, QoS, spanning-tree.
• Experience building networks in remote domestic and international locations.
• Experience coordinating vendors, carriers and other service providers.
• Experience in a financial services firm is desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication with experience in writing “board level” quality reports and presentations.
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPN and Remote Access technologies is a plus.
• College degree is required.

This position requires participation in 24/7 support, rotated equitably through all team members.

This individual will help create strategic partnerships in an effort to provide technological innovations, tools and support to the Analytics and Risk Management business unit. EXPERIENCE
· Must have direct experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically experience working with market data feeds in the Fixed Income arena.
· Must have Fixed Income systems and software development experience.
· Some experience working with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, FTID, Lehman, etc.
· 5+ years of software development experience including knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying technologies, database and application design and system architecture3+ years of involvement with fixed income investment practices
· 3+ years experience in the design, testing of financial or fixed income market data or vendor applications
· 2+ years of project management and organizational skills with ability to both lead and participate in cross-organizational teams; ability to initiate, track, and follow through on multiple ongoing projects
· Knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying technologies, database and application design and system architecture
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently and interact with all levels of internal and external contacts
· Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills

EDUCATION (minimum requirements):
BS degree in Finance, Mathematics or Computer Science
Graduate degree in Mathematics/Computer Science desirable.

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for production and development efforts involving support of security master, market data vendor feeds, pricing systems, and risk management systems supporting the fixed income investment process.
· Work closely with members of the Analytics/Risk Management, SMF, and Pricing groups.
