Location: Jersey City

 

Data Architect - Contract: 6 months - $120/hour

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Ø      Develop data architecture from  logical  through to actual  hardware implementation

Ø      Working with design leads develop overall data model for both  database data and non-database data.

Ø      Work with Project manager to develop data solutions times frames and deliverables for storage models databases etc products using the appropriate technologies

Ø      Document solutions proposed

Ø      Evaluate different  database options and solutions

Ø      Work with Sys Admin and DBA functions QA functions to implement agreed upon solutions

Ø      Research existing tools and technologies that can be used to help answer requirements

 

 

Experience

 

Ø      Development of large scale data solutions using different database methodologies 

Ø      Development of SQL: and other scripts to implement data architectures

Ø      Working with non-technical users to develop and document requirements  

 

 

Skills

 

Ø      Strong database skills including SQL knowledge

Ø      Solid understanding of data architecture issues.

Ø      Expertise in data modeling both  logical  and physical. 

Ø      Strong data  Solid Unix/Linux skills

Ø      Understanding of data storage hardware issues 

Ø      Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical users so that effective software products can be developed.

Ø      Working knowledge of Office and Visio etc..  and other diagramming tools   

Ø      Ability to work  independently on assignments

Ø      Ability to work on multiple tasks in a team environment.

Ø      Excellent communication skills

VB.NET C# for Long Island, NY

 

 

 Developer Position: 65-95K

 

They need a full-time developer, to work out of Lynbrook, NY, with 3+ years of experience in VB.NET and SQL. Knowledge of C#, COM, ActiveX, Visual Studio and Visual Source Safe would be a plus.  Knowledge of Java or willingness to learn Java would also be advantageous since portions of their Electronic Discovery system is Java-based.

 

The Manager said the priority is VB.NET and SQL skills.  Next, knowledge, exposure, experience with Active X, C# are plusses.  Candidates should be open to learning Java (JDK).

 

Lynbrook is in Nassau county.  They are commutable by LIRR, the office is a 4 block walk from the station.  It is easy to get to by car from Queens and Brooklyn as well as by points East on LI.
