4 Senior UNIX SE's for a one-year project. 

They will be responsible for design and planning activities on Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris systems. This will include designing and documenting client solutions as well as providing guidance and procedural direction. The position is responsible for conducting compatability and feasibility studies on the operating systems. They will work with the Engineering organization to research, analyze and incorporate emerging technologies into the UNIX environment, preparing thorough procedural documentation and scripting of processes. They may be required to be part of the 24x7 on-call/pager support for existing UNIX systems. Candidates must possess solid analytical, technical, written and oral communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 
Design and planning on Sun Solaris and Red Hat 
Administration of the UNIX and Linux environments 
Performance Management 
On-call pager support 
Having versatility in the areas of storage management, performance management or database management will be helpful 

Requirements: 
At least 7 years experience administering, monitoring and managing Solaris and Red Hat environments 
6+ years experience troubleshooting and tuning Linux systems down to the kernel level 
3-5 years experience with performance management using tools such as BMC Patrol & Enterprise Performance Assurance 
7 years experience automating activities using Perl and Shell scripting is a necessity 
Experience with administration/setup of Oracle/Sybase is a plus 
Leadership skills in time management, managing meetings and berbal communications skills are a must
