The Application Architect/Development Team Lead will report into the IT Application Development organization and be responsible for all aspects of designing and developing applications while delivering best-in-class architecture and technical solutions.  There are multiple opportunities that exist for application architects with experience in front, middle and back office fixed income technology platforms.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

 

Application Design

  • Works with Project Managers, Business Analyst and Developers to determine software and hardware requirements while designing innovative system solutions and software development techniques across the organization
  • Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for system design.
  • Provides senior level consulting services on process improvement projects designed to improve system development and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls and outputs.
  • Oversees the technical implementation of projects as needed.
  • Provides production support as necessary.

 

Solution Engineering

  • Performs functional and technical analysis and design.
  • Maintains business case for solution engineering effort.
  • Supports buy vs. build analysis by performing Request For Information (RFI) and Request For Proposal (RFP) processes with vendors.
  • Works with project teams to ensure technical quality of deliverables and adherence to the software .implementation lifecycle (SILC) and architectural standards.
  • Considered a technical expert possessing expertise in technical architecture, system implementation and/or deep, specialized knowledge of fixed income applications Application Architecture.
  • Drafts conceptual and logical architecture specifications at both the enterprise and project level.
  • Assists project teams and Product Managers when documenting new functionality to assure compliance with Enterprise wide processes such as scenario based requirements analysis.
  • Assists project teams during system design with the drafting of logical architectural models.
  • Assists project teams during system design to promote the efficient re-use of IT assets
  • Advised project team during system development to assure compliance with architectural principles, guideline and standards.
  • Ensures application designs meet the architectural blueprint for business applications.
  • Provides technical guidance to cross-functional, cross-platform application development teams

 

 


 

 REQUIREMENTS :

  • Eight years experience in application development and system analysis which should include application development, third party application configuration and support, data warehousing, information delivery, etc.
  • Securities knowledge should include fixed income assets, derivatives as well as related analytics and posses a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of enterprise application integration, and familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Design level experiences and solutions incorporating Java, Java SWING, GUI, J2EE development platforms, XML, JavaScript, JSP, Servlets, UNIX scripting, PERL.
  • Design level experience with relational databases such as Sybase, Oracle, SqlServer, Sybase and other technologies including, Web Services, Java, J2EE development platform.

Individual is responsible for processing all corporate actions related to fixed income instruments including, but not limited to:  consent solicitations, options to call issues, options to put issues, redemption offers, conversions, exchanges, tender offers and final payments.

§         Complete all related paperwork associated with a corporation action (e.g., holdings certification). 

§         Maintain Corporate Action database in line with information received from custodians and information providers.
